Dodgers might as well go all out and go get Burnes now.

They don’t need to. Rotation of Yamamoto, Glasnow, Miller, Sheehan, Buehler.

A lot of injury risk (Glasnow & Buehler), youth and MLB inexperience in that rotation.... the odds aren't zero

Odds aren't zero, but they're not desperate enough now to trade prospects for a one year rental. Not Friedman's style.

Only team willing to blow over 300M. Thanks Shohei.  Bout time. Now that question is over.  12/325(not exactly counting the posting fee and luxury tax cost)  the deal works below 30M a year.  Corbin must be licking his chops at what must be 36M+ if not a full 40M a season avg he's going to sign for 8+ seasons. Probably see a 50M year in that deal.

I'd expect no trade to LA anymore dealing with Burnes. Trade deadline certainly should that find a course to even logically happen.  What's the record for games won in a season? I hope LA blows it by 15games.

The Giants are 0-2 this offseason and 0-3 in the last two offseasons in signing someone of significance.

In the “just baseball” podcast, they played mock GM for the Giants and signed Jordan Montgomery and Giolito (and traded for Kyle Farmer), which is a still a pretty good offseason

I think Dodgers want Adames as well as Burnes.  If we do a quantity trade with them (which I desire) the trade then Burnes and Adames for Frasso Stone Ryan , Martin, Wroblewski.   They keep every single bat prospect as well as miller and Sheehan.

we get 4,5,9,11,20 for Burnes and Adames.   All five starting pitchers and only the top 3 need 40 man rostering.  Thoughts??

I hope they lose in the NLDS

No way Friedman gives up that much pitching.

Without a salary cap we are have about as good a chance of winning a world series as a MAC team has of winning the collge football championship. I love baseball and more importantly the Brewers but the sport gets more ridiculous each and every year.

Meh, I think it's fun! Since we can't hand out these kinds of contracts, let one team take all the stars. There's still an 80% chance they don't win it all. Take care of business at home and don't worry about whichever team "wins" the offseason each year. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

So you enjoy how dead ass boring the offseason always is???????

All the moves still get made, and teams are set for opening day. What's the difference if the moves are forced to be done early (when fans would then be "dead ass bored" later) or if the moves are done throughout the offseason? We're still ending up with the same moves being made over the same offseason.

I think "Bored" is being confused with "I don't like waiting to see what my team is going to do." It's almost Christmas. How exciting would Christmas be if all the presents were opened by the end of November and there were no presents to open Christmas morning?

The Dodgers have committed $1.2 billion to a 2024 DH with major surgery history, a pitcher with no MLB experience, and a starter who has averaged 12 starts a year for the last six seasons. Add in Betts and Freeman, and their commitments to five players is greater than Forbes estimated value of the Brewers franchise. On one hand, it will be nice to focus my hatred on another franchise and hope they fail spectacularly.

On the other hand, it just sucks.

The Dodgers' TV deal allows them to do this and still make boatloads of money. The Brewers' TV deal wouldn't pay for Ohtani's AAV.

Until broadcasting revenues are shared evenly, things won't change. I believe that years ago Selig put into effect that internet/streaming revenues would be shared evenly. If that's correct, then I just hope Google or Apple or someone else ends up buying the whole package and we watch everything through a national streaming service with no local deals.

You don't know this, stop acting like you do.

We have no idea what the Dodgers are thinking.  They may be thinking that Burnes would be the icing on the cake this year.  YOU simply don't know.

That team can afford the prospects, so adding Burnes could in fact be their next line of thought.

Imagine that rotation by adding Burnes, my bet is that they are thinking on it, and nothing would surprise me at this point.

Seriously. What is your problem when you’re doing this to every one of my posts. Please knock it off.

There’s literally evidence throughout his tenure going back to the Rays which says it’s not really Friedman’s style to give up prospects for one year rentals. They were only willing to give up Pepiot if Glasnow agreed to an extension.

It's the way you phrase your posts, like they are factual, not opinions.  You come off as a complete know-it-all and it gets tiring.

Simple as that.

That’s your opinion. You realize you come across as something yourself when you feel the need to do this with every single one of my posts, including just yesterday when I simply shared an article (trying to figure out how that’s about phrasing or knowing it all)? Unfortunately, I can’t exactly spell it out for you as it would get filtered by the site.

If you disagree with my opinion, just say so and present evidence why you think I’m wrong. I can take it, and I’m not always right. No need for the other stuff.

Simple as that.

There is a rumor that Amazon is willing to buy the streaming rights from the regional sport’s networks that have them.  The Brewers are one of them.

It doesn’t solve the revenue problem or local TV but it would allow for streaming on Amazon for a few teams.

Have to think Kershaw will be back too right?   Yea he can't be counted on for 30 starts but when he pitches he's still good.   Can't imagine he wants to leave right now with this juggernaut they've put together.  Probably is going to take a team friendly deal of some kind, unless I've missed some kind of announcement about him.

@TURBO @Brewcrew82 Can you please stop the back and forth? It's getting a little personal and derailing the thread. Thanks.

This will never happen. You are grossly inflating the worth of both Burnes and Adames, especially for one year before both become free agents.
