Supposedly there are unprecedented deferrals in Ohtani's contract. Robert Murray's tweet says the majority of his salary.

Deferrals help from a cash flow perspective, but it’s still a $70M yearly hit towards their CBT number.

Dodgers are 1-7 in their last 8 playoff games, guess they needed to do something desperate.

This isn't really a stupid contract if the estimated revenue he generates off the field for the team are correct. (Upwards of $70 M a year)
