Not sure if I am understanding this parking….

I bought preferred parking in advance. However, I thought all I needed to do was plug in the parking code to the app once I arrived in the lot. Simple. Now it says I need to scan the QR code on nearest sign in parking lot before I do any of this. I do not understand this step, what it means, or why I have to do this.
Any help?

"Fans can either pre-purchase advance parking and activate their parking once onsite or purchase parking onsite via a QR code. Payments for parking can be made with Apple Pay, Google Pay or credit card."

One says scan QR code, other doesn’t. Different instructions.
If you prepaid parking, the code was given already and at first just said enter the code and license plate # when parked. Now it says to use QR code.

if you pre paid you have to "activate it" by scanning a QR code

Progress stops for no one.  They can also ask one of the attendants to do it for them if they don’t have a smart phone.  Plus senior people shouldn’t be driving anyways.

Unfortunately, you're correct. Sigh...

I'm curious to see what it does when people park in preferred but they buy a general pass. Will they be charged the difference, notified to move your vehicle?

Seems to me the lines to get to a QR code will make it just as time consuming as the queue to get into the lots was. Like most things this smells like nothing more than a way to maximize revenue by eliminating the cost of many of the paid parking staff, and potential revenue losses from any cash thefts by the attendants, discounts given or  freebies.

Not really. The QR codes are on light posts in the parking lots. I'd think there would be a lot of them and they're posted higher up on the posts. Just point your smartphone camera at it, zoom in if necessary, and click the website link that appears on your screen. You don't really even need to be that close to it.

American Family Field parking lots now include signs with QR codes to pay for parking using the new parking payment system.

Per brewers.com
Fans who fail to pay for parking or activate their advance parking session will be subject to a parking violation at the day of game rate with an additional fee. Fees will vary depending on amount of occurrences and when payment is completed.

I'd assume that would apply to parking in a lot you didn't pay the correct price for.

I don't think they have accepted cash for years. I assumed they would still have the wayfinders that direct you to your row, otherwise it would still be the wild west finding a spot. So, no savings there. The "parking ambassadors" who help at the scanning posts are probably just a one-for-one swap with the people who scanned your ticket before you pulled in. I don't see how they are saving money at all. My hope is that I will get off the highway and into my spot more quickly than before because I don't have to stop and get scanned as I drive in. The waiting time previously spent in your car will be now perhaps be spent scanning your code, but at least traffic will move better. I think it sounds great. Hope it works out that way. They might have just thought that this was a better way for people to park, and not had any nefarious intent at all.

You can probably park for free today and not worry about getting a ticket.

IMO they should have scheduled an exhibition game to debut this and work out the kinks. Everyone will have it figured out in a week.

Yeah or just have people that pre-paid use it for the first home stand.

That defeats the purpose though.  The reason they're going to this is to avoid bottlenecks going into the stadium because everyone has to stop and pay/scan.  If the people that don't prepay are still having to stop the people that prepaid still have to sit and wait.

You could have an express lane for pre-paid. It's moot since they didn't do anything.
