Yes and Jackie was terrible.

Right. The Brewers front office turned their mistake into two productive players because they are smart.

Better than Scooter Gennett's

It depends if he bulks his frame. (I don't mean to Thames level)  it's like a pitcher, velocity to low.  He's not even warning track power right now. That Frelick would do well.

Scoots!

Gasser and Payamps didn't have anything to do with the Hader trade.

Huh? Gasser was in the Hader deal. If Gasser is just a solid #3 or #4 starter the Brewers come out of that deal laughing.

I meant Contreras and Payamps.  My bad.

Yeah. I meant Contreras, not Gasser.  But now I get it, Ruiz was in that deal, which helped us get Contreras.

Even if you want to ignore the Esteury for Contreras portion of the trade for whatever reason, Hader threw 72 IP with SDP totaling 1.7 rWAR…Gasser has seven years to beat that.

And if one wants to play that game, you can't really can't go ahead and ignore Ruiz almost equaling Hader's WAR with his 1.3 fWAR with the A's last year....

They have made some very good trades, I can't argue that. But I didn't like Sterns to much at the end in Milwaukee.

Gasser putting up debut more in line with Freddy.

When is the last time Hader had six consecutive scoreless innings? (Over multiple games as a reliever)

I would bet a lot of money on this being the final year for this regime of Cardinals baseball. And it's glorious.

Final year? Things keep going like this and it might be their final series 😂

I honestly wouldn't be shocked now that you mention it.

From the day the trade was made, the Brewers' front office made it known they viewed Gasser as the centerpiece of the return for Hader, acknowledging it would be a few seasons until he was ready to contribute at the MLB level.  The Brewers weren't going anywhere that season and made the right call to trade Hader then.

People were p'oed Hader was dealt, but he was in the midst of imploding that June/July and he was only going to get more expensive the following offseason.  Flipping Ruiz for Contreras the following offseason was just gravy...albeit spectacularly delicious gravy!

True. I don't think they'll fire Mozeliak in season out of respect for what he's done, but Marmol could definitely not make it out of MKE with the team.
