Nunnallee is ranked 200 on MLB Pipeline ranking with a commitment to UVA.  Will be another tough sign I'd imagine, but again - hopefully we saved up plenty of money early on to get this guy in the fold!

Is it possible that the Brewers lean towards international bats and drafting pitchers as their MO?

Is it possible? Absolutely. Would they ever admit this or spin it this way? Absolutely not. 😅 I personally think, more than anything, it's up to the cycle of talent at the respective avenues - if that makes sense. This International Class is very clearly very very advanced.

That is what I was thinking.  The Brewers never have spent much Intl $$ on pitching (and it shows).  The position players this year in the DSL have been outstanding.  Watching that group combined with the HS Arms we have drafted will be something.

My goodeness, if they actually sign Nunnallee?!? Just. Well. I don't even know.

I'm feeling pretty skeptical that they sign him, but after last season you really never know. Virginia has done a really nice job churning out catchers recently.

Yeah, I feel like we've got a much better shot at signing Broughton than we do Nunnallee, but I also think that our FO has done their homework here on these guys, and if they didn't think they could sign them - then I just can't imagine we'd be taking them here in the 13th and 14th rounds?  Last year, we didn't sign our 17th, 18th and 19th rounders, but those were three of our final four picks.

The curveball here is those high schoolers taken in 9 and 10 yesterday. That isn’t like us. Those are usually easy sign picks that we save even more money on.

There might be some crazy stuff going on.

Another upside college arm in RHP Travis Smith, Kentucky - coming off TJ as well he also, wait for it...

Throws a cutter. Four-pitch mix at present? Maybe five. Upside here as he already sits mid 90's and touches 97 mph.

Have to assume they are probably going to get only one or two of these guys to sign. Smith is probably a back up for Nunnallee

If I'm not mistaken, Smith is a transferee to Mississippi State. He actually has really good stuff. This one feels like a lotto stab like Nunnallee. Roll of the proverbial dice. Why not?

Certainly could be. They certainly appear to have enough upside plays throughout to make quite a nice class, but, it would certainly appear they've given us a bevy of Day 3 lotto pick candidates. Shall be quite interesting to see what results of these swings.

To be fair, few teams spend nearly as much internationally on hitting as pitching. It seems, understandably, teams view it as easier to project 16-year-old hitters than 16-year-old pitchers.

Not expecting all three of these recent picks to sign, but the first two days of the draft would make a hell of a lot more sense if they did.

And you also need to consider that many of these agreements are handshake deals made before they are 16 years old
