Just noticed we have a double header on Friday against the Reds.  We will probably have to call up someone.

3 more bombs allowed by Brewer pitchers. They have to be in the bottom 2 or 3 in all MLB in HRs allowed. Not something a playoff team can continually allow.

Not 2-3, but they are 6th overall. They definitely struggle to limit the long ball.

I miss baseball reference having these charts, but does anyone know how many times the Brewers have won this year when trailing after eight innings?

I know the Brewers have a lot of “comeback wins“ but it seems like most of those are small deficits early in the game and not so much coming back in the ninth.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

We're slipping away in the race to avoid the WC round. That means our season could be over 2 games into the postseason just like that, and I absolutely loathe the thought.

Tough loss. One mistake pitch by Payamps. Several barreled balls that were just hit to the wrong place or were just slightly off the right spot on the barrel. That's a tough loss.

The relief staff as a strength is taking a hit

I dunno. Coming into todays' game Payamps has allowed two hits the entire month. Hudson seems to have settled back in after a rough stretch. Megill had a bad outing his first time back from the IL, but was solid in Oakland. There might be tweaking of the personnel coming up but it's still a group more than capable IMO.

My biggest concern is fans jumping off a bridge when Hobie Milner is the pitcher that gets added on 9-1. Not predicting it but it wouldn't surprise me.

This was a frustrating yet goofy game to me. It reminded me a little of some of the games the Dodgers play. "Oh, we're tied now? We're trailing? OK, we'll just pull one of our HR cards out of the deck & play it here. What? The HR was robbed? OK, we have another one in the deck. Yeah, here it is." Otherwise they did very little offensively. Of course you can say the same thing about their opponents tonight too.

Probably needed to look to steal a little more in the late innings.

As well as we ran up the pitch count & made Webb work, I thought he had a horseshoe stuck in his arse a little bit. Two or three 'almost' infield hits in clutch spots, and Bauers smoked one in the 1st inning that easily could've gone for an RBI hit.

Ballet lessons for Myers in the off-season.

Thought for sure Ross would be a goner.  Well done in earning his roster spot.

Ross & Wilsons' roles are kinda redundant, plus Ashby & Hudson can go two innings, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of them leaves the building at some point. Agreed, Ross appears the safer of the two right now.

We're slipping away?  Brewers have the biggest division lead in all of baseball 9 games.

The "race to avoid the WC round" or the race to the #2 seed. We were previously less than a game back of both the Dodgers and the Phillies. Now we're 2.5 games back.

Ok, I see what you mean being the third best division winner.

Was at the game, didn't read this thread. Such a frustrating game. To score a run, the Brewers seemingly need to string together two hits, a walk, a fielder's choice, stolen base, sacrifice fly, wild pitch and contact play. Then the opponent ties it up with one pitch. Three homers and a Perkins robbery of a fourth for SF. Levering was on the Czaban show just now and was saying that the ball was really jumping last night. Why not for the Brewers? I mean Churio's was a bomb that I was thrilled to see in person, but man that game made me crabby.

And, on the way home a semi literally lost a tire in front of me on the interstate and I hit it, which messed up my car. Also why I'm crabby. Very lucky, but crabby. That could have gone down a bunch of different ways. I didn't see it in time, so I didn't swerve, or brake, but drove right over it, which probably was best. Slow reflexes for the win.

Damn, on the interstate that could've easily been a REAL tragedy. Glad to hear damage was limited to the vehicle, which is a blessing.

The Brewers scored all 4 of their runs on HR last night?

Yes by Adamas and Chourio both with a man on.

Yup. Last night notwithstanding. The Giants had three men LOB all night, the Brewers 11. The Giants were tremendously more efficient.

Brewers first inning: Reached on error, stolen base, 15-pitch walk, fielder's choice, fielder's choice. Stretched Webb out for 30 pitches. 0 runs. Brewers saw 52 more pitches, and to what end?

I don't think he was asking, he was challenging my assertion that the Brewers need to scratch and claw to score.
