I love Grant. If he can add a little bit as a pass rusher, there's...a LITTLE bit of Dexter Lawrence in there.

And moving from a 34 to a 43 could help him unlock it.

But, if nothing else, he's very good vs the run and can move men in the pocket and that makes it easier for the Edges to get home.

I think the best tape of the three, Harmon, Nolen and Grant is Grant, but it's a bit less consistent and he also has a guy who should be a top 10 pick who played next to him.

Harmon is the best effort player and I think it's really unlikely he's a bust. Not sure the ceiling, but I don't know just how good he can be.

Nolen is similar to Wyatt in my opinion. More stout.

Heard more than once, that Nolen has character concerns with him.

Yeah, I've seen them, but they seem REALLY petty so far.

It basically amounts to(as far as I can tell) he transferred too many times, he hasn't been as productive as his recruiting ranking would suggest he should be.

They go over these kids like crazy. If that's the worst you've got at 21 years old? I don't know, the effort issues...where sometimes it wanes, that is about all I'd be worried about. The Packers also have a massive scouting staff and they investigate and do a lot of digging on these guys.

Yes, he played next to a probable top 10 pick, who was most likely double teamed a lot, which makes me wonder why Grant's #'s weren't better than they were. I also watched videos of Grant, and nothing really impressed me very much. I think he'll end up an average rotational player.

He was a NT in a 3-4, so...he's going to be doubled much more. As for the numbers...I guess it depends on what you're looking for in his numbers(also, his numbers are pretty similar to Graham's numbers).

I'm looking for a guy who can collapse the pocket, play the run, keep the LBers clean...and then the fact that he's really good at getting his hands up and in throwing lanes is a nice ancillary benefit.

Vita Via isn't stacking the stat book, but I assume we'd agree if you could get a Vita Vea at #23, you'd definitely do that, right? Maybe Kenny Clark? Would you take a young Clark again?

If you watched his tape and you were unimpressed...I guess on that I'd just agree to disagree. He may end up an average rotational player. Better chance than not, that's what you'll get, even in the bottom half of the 1st rd from any DL(or CB, Edge). They're pretty high miss rates...but I think he's got a floor of being a really good 1 tech and being a good rotational player and the upside to be a whole lot more(Vita Vea was just an example, it's not reasonable to expect that from any DT in this draft).

I will be arriving in the GB/Door County area Wednesday evening. I might try to make it to some pre-draft event type dealies Wednesday eve. Are any of you fine peoples going to be in the area for draft weekend? If so, we should meet up. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us Cheesheads!

Here are the Packer picks-

1-31 - Shavon Revel Jr./CB/East Carolina

2-54 - Ashton Gillotte/DE/Louisville

3-87 - C.J. West/DT/Indiana

3-95  - Savion Williams/WR/Texas Christian

4-124 - Logan Brown/OT/Kansas (PUKE)

4-133 - Caleb Rogers/OG/Texas Tech

6-198 - Teddye Buchanan/LB/California

7-237 - Jalin Conyers/TE/Texas Tech

7-250 - Melvin Smith Jr./CB/Southern Arkansas

Could we find a better way to post all of these?  Or at least keep it to the summaries (like this one)?

Alas, I won't.  I was tempted but then I remembered that I don't like huge crowds of people mashed into small areas that weren't intended for that many people. 😂

What will you be wearing so we can see you cheering/crying over our 1st round pick? 😏

$3 K per ticket to be in the theater Day 1. Heck no I'm not paying that. Literally just going for the whole experience and to hang with Packers fans wherever that ends up being.

Not when posting in real time.  I figured with the formatting it's easy enough for people who could care less to see what it is and just scroll to the next post and just keep going until they find something they are interested in.

I paid $0 for my ticket at Radio City Music Hall in 2011.

Thanks to JosephC and all the others who share their draft research and insight here. I don't follow the draft that closely but can usually get up to speed just reading this forum in the weeks leading up. Can't wait until Thursday night.

A friend of mine and I went to the draft both years it was in Chicago. The first year, they had a fan tent for each team with TV's in them, where fans could gather and watch it together. Also had beer tents and bathrooms very close to them also. It was awesome! They didn't have the tents the 2nd year, and it absolutely sucked! The 1 thing that was great the 2nd year, was I was lucky enough to be chosen for free tickets into the theater where the picks were made, for the 1st rd. Seats were 3rd row, right in front of the podium. My friend was chosen for tickets for the 2nd and 3rd rd picks, and those seats were very close to where the ESPN analyst set was.

Twas the night before draft day and all through the state,

not a deal was in motion to seal Jaire fate.

The mock drafts concluded with assumptions galore

that they could predict this draft better than before.

The prospects were all snuggled all warm in their beds

with the hope that their RAS score will move them ahead.

LaFleur in his hoodie and Gute in his suit,

Had finished their draft board; preparing to loot

When out on the field there arose such a roar,

It struck them like thunder, louder than lore.

Away to the sidelines they ran in a flash,

Out through the tunnel, they arrived on the grass.

The moon shone brightly on a fresh April snow

and cast a cool light on the field called Lambeau.

When what to their weary eyes did they see?

but a team on the goal line ‘bout to score a TD.

The faithful QB that they beheld from afar

could only have been the fabled Bart Starr.

The captain called out, his cadence so deft

“Try to stop if you can - Packer sweep left. “

“Now Bob, and Fuzzy, and Curry once more

on Kramer, and Gregg, while Taylor will score”

The jolly old legend cheered with great pride

the victory assured and the bears pushed aside.

Now Coach Lombardi spoke up to give his advice

“The players are key, but only a team will suffice.”

And called out as the legends faded into the night,

“Merry Draft Day to all and to all a good night.”

I tried to mock day 1 and 2 and realized there really aren’t specific players I love that could be available around the packers picks. So I guess I’ll just hope the packers address corner back, defensive tackle, edge rusher or wide receiver tomorrow or Friday. I heard that the the thought is that picks 20-60 are about the same which is probably why I just can’t get too excited unless someone would fall.

I'll be among the unwashed (but hopefully not rained-upon) masses in Green Bay tomorrow, so I probably won't be watching the forum as closely as I would most draft nights.

Decided to post my thoughts in terms of how I'd feel if the Packers draft Player X.

Cartwheels:

Anyone projected in the Top 10 (though confused if it's a QB or Jeanty)

Tet McMillan, WR, Arizona (in my head, he's Herman Moore 2.0, making this offense more dynamic in the red zone, as well as being a #1 option this offense hasn't had since Davante left)

Happy:

Mason Graham, DT, Michigan (almost certainly requires a trade up)

Emeka Ebuka, WR, Ohio State (productivity is tough to ignore)

Trade down for good value, as long as no one I've already named is still on the board

Walter Nolen, DT, Mississippi (talent and decent value at 23)

Will Johnson, CB, Michigan (assumes he checked out physically during his on-site visit)

Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan (NT of the future, especially after losing Slayton to Free Agency)

Not thrilled, but I get it:

Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State (LT with his pedigree would not be available but for the injury....essentially giving up on Morgan as a tackle though)

Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon (is to Devonte Wyatt what Simmons is to Jordan Morgan at LT)

Matthew Golden, WR, Texas (4.29 40s don't grow on trees, and is absolutely the take-the-cover-off profile of a team need, but I saw enough dropped passes from last year's WR corps to not be rooting for this pick)

Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas (4.39 40, but scouting questions his top-end speed and ability to play outside)

Mykel Williams, DE, Georgia (pass rush is a need, but I'm hoping the new DL coach can get more out of the talent on-hand)

Shavon Revel, Jr., CB, East Carolina (there's injuries, and there's a torn ACL...too much of a gamble for my liking at a speed position)

Trey Amos, CB, Mississippi (feels like a reach at 23, but a good option if they trade back)

Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College (If they draft him, then Halfley's reports must be glowing.)

Actively dislike:

Luther Burden, WR, Missouri (size and speed are there, but Packers don't need a slot WR)

Shemar Stewart, DE, Texas A&M (athletic edge without production....we have enough of that already)

Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina (actually like the player, but the deepest position on the roster right now)

So we're trading down with KC and then trading up for...Caleb Rogers?

Assuming Doubs and Jaire are on the block, where do you think those picks end up?

Dallas is apparently high on Doubs. Maybe a swap of 2nd rd picks and one of Dallas' many later picks? Is that a bit too ambitious?

Jaire, Cincy seems like a good fit. They've got a pick at...153. I'm not sure we can ask for much more unless we take on some of his salary. This would be much easier with Jaire back.

Any thoughts on Slater from Sacramento St or Cornelius? Former Wisconsin OL have surprised me before, I am with you on the Logan Brown sentiment, but...I get the impression it's less about the specific player there than the position.

Again, love Buchanan. I think he fits a role on this team very well.

I'm still about...50% sure the Packers take a "WTH" pick in Rd1.

If Mykel Williams is on the board, is he the pick?

Bears are done.  This is a pretty good looking draft IMO.

1-10 - Walter Nolan/DT/Mississippi

2-41 - Aireontae Ersery/OT/Minnesota

2-48 - Quinshon Judkins/RB/Ohio State

3-72 - Elijah Arroyo/TE/Miami, Fl

4-116 - Sai'vion Jones/DE/LSU

4-135 - Tai Felton/WR/Maryland

7-233 - Maxen Hook/S/Toledo

7-240 - Shemar James/LB/Florida

That'd be a very nice draft...I just wonder what they'd do with Ersery and Wright. Kick Wright over to the left side? He seems like a better fit at LT than Ersery. Judkins is a stud, Sa'Vion Jones is a good fit in that defense. Felton would give them a good, young WR with size and speed. I'm guessing they're going Will Campbell if he's there or going a little harder after OL overall, but...interesting draft.

Really hate seeing the Bears and Lions both having competent front offices. It's just been the Packers and Vikings for a while now.

With his concussion issues, I highly doubt anyone would give up a 2nd rd pick for Doubs. Even a 2nd rd pick swap is probably doubtful.

Weather looks like it will be decent for you. Maybe some rain on Friday but April in Green Bay is a crapshoot. Mid to upper 50's is perfect.

Do we need a Packers only draft tracking thread or are you guys good using this one?
