Or Murphy is finding more reasons not to play him .  I think Murphy simply does not like Black personally .

So he is in a battle for a roster spot and he has "mild back soreness" sure.

Did you not listen to the interview Murphy gave on the sidelines last season on our West Coast tour when he was being interviewed by the TV announcers during I believe against the Padres?  Or every single time he was brought up in post game interviews in 2024?    This is not an opinion of mine.    Pat Murphy said that he did not like Tyler Black and treated him differently .  Pat said he was riding Tyler hard in that sideline interview and that he is being a hard on Tyler and made no bones about it.      When Pat took over as manager all the hype around Tyler Black shifted from everyone being excited about him to him being a fringe player who may never make the MLB field as a Brewer .        That is not just a coincidence.

Tyler Black is being held back because Murphy hates his guts and no other reasons.    If you watched all the 2024 games and listened to Murphy speak about Tyler Black at all you should already know this to be true.

Split squad-big against two teams only trotting out major leaguers is rough.

Thats ok for today,  gotta see who's who especially against the good teams in spring training.

I just hope Eric Haase gets to play more this season even at DH  because he has been tearing it up this spring. So far hitting .375 and that is not easy. Plus he is FAST!

Ignore feature doesn’t seem to be working for new additions…….at least not for me.

Thanks for the heads up.  @Brock Beauchamp

Yeah, markedman made me aware of this, it's on my list of things to dive into now that I have specific examples but I won't be able to do so until after OD. I'll try to remember to make an announcement when/if I get it resolved.

I have no issues with it. I ignored the jesusoftheapes poster very recently and it worked. I just tested out ignoring you and it worked.

This is what it looks like when jesusoftheapes posts for me.

Isn't that what is supposed to happen?

Yes, but markedman has had some specific issues with ignore. Perhaps only with specific users. Now that I have specifics, I can try to replicate it and find out what is happening.

I find that hard to believe.

I don’t think Murphy “ hates Black”

Black said himself that he tweaked his back and would be back soon…….lets not add drama .

Jerked him around last year position wise….still have no idea how he is going to be used. Owner doesn’t either……..MA thinks he was going to get a shot at 3B when they all but gave up playing him at 3B (or even 2B) last year in the minors.
I am surprised he is still with the team…and yes, I think it is obvious that skip is not high on Black.

What point are you making? Just posting random links with no context isn't helpful.

Maybe we will get to see him play tomorrow and I didn't realize he was 6' 4" I don't remember him being that tall.  Also, Brewers vs KC on Fanduel formerly Bally's tomorrow,

Joey Wiemer is 1 for 10 this spring and recently turned 26? 🤷‍♂️

What was Connor’s key point? Can’t get behind paywall.

Here's a snippet of what he said specifically about the Cardinals. IMO he's pretty polite about it actually. But yeah what he's saying is pretty damning of just the overall state of the Cardinals method of coaching young pitchers.

Quote

Thomas, who on one hand has gotten to the cusp of the majors thanks to the Cardinals but in his opinion also didn’t benefit from a coaching style that’s quite different from the one employed by Milwaukee with regard to pitching.

“I thank the Cardinals immensely for the opportunity that they've given me. They gave me a chance in pro ball and flew me up through the system, got me a Triple-A quick and allowed me to face this caliber of hitters,” he said. “So, there's a development piece in that, right? It's the experience you get playing in Triple-A, so they developed me in that regard.

“But as far as on the coaching side of it, there really wasn't a whole lot, you know? It was a bunch of, 'Hey, this is what you do. Just try to go figure it out and figure out how to get hitters out.' There were no tweaks, nothing like that, nothing of this.

“A great organization, and I enjoyed my time over there, but I'm happy to be with a team that's, on the coaching side of it, doing a little more for me.”

There are 3 players in the MLB with a bat speed > 75 mph (200 swing minimum) and a sprint speed in the 90th+ percentile.

Elly De La Cruz

Julio Rodriguez

Can you guess the 3rd? Hint: I think all of his peripherals adds up to a big year on the horizon.

I'm going to guess Garrett Mitchell. And I agree. If he can manage to stay healthy, he's got a big season ahead.
