I don't/didn't understand the Uribe/Koenig/Mears 5/6/7.  Sure seems like Alexander should have been in there in the 5th or 6th.

Yeah its pretty basic bullpen management strategy when holding a small lead.  You want to save your best pitchers for 8th and 9th since thats when it matters most with a 1 run lead.

Yeah, this is just....weird. Like, you go from Tyler Alexander spot-starter to Tyler Alexander high-leverage, 8th-inning man? I like Alexander, but all I can think of is Murph wanted to try to get 5 and 6 from Uribe.

But, even then, why? And why not just let Alexander try for multiple innings? It's a head-scratcher, for sure, and definitely seems like a "let's see if this kid can handle it move" rather than anything that has to do with the best chance to win today. College coach Murphy coming out, maybe.

Methinks Misiorowski would be better on the roster than Alexander as a long reliever / spot starter.  Not that he should be pitching in the setup role versus 5th/6th either.
