Isaac Collins now up to .5 WAR on the season in his limited time:

Isaac Collins Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More | Baseball-Reference.com

Yelich, meanwhile, has been a replacement level player thus far:

Christian Yelich Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More | Baseball-Reference.com

I'm assuming Yelich will still start today against the LHP if Sal is hurt, but we have to drop him in the order. All of the strikeouts in the 3 hole are such an unneccessary self-inflicted handicap each game. He has a 40% k rate against LHP in 2025 :(

Start Daz and Collins, pinch hit Yeli in a good place against a RHP at some point or just give him the day off. We can't keep that production in the 3 spot.

I hope this post does what it is supposed to.

Do strikeouts matter? Sometime I get confused on what we are supposed to believe 🙂

In general I would say they matter, just based on logic. If strikeouts are good for pitchers that means logically they are bad for hitters.

I feel like they don't matter if the player is being productive and hitting the ball hard in the other ab's. I do think they matter to guys who don't slug well.

For example, Collins and Capra both have 14 k's in similar amounts of ab's. Joey Ortiz has 21 k's and Hoskins has 27 k's in similar ab's, the k's don't matter much when comparing 2 guys but with you compare a team as an entire lineup. For the most part, the teams at the bottom 10 of the league in strikeouts don't end up in say the top 10 in the league for runs (it can happen).

Don't know. Was looking at Collins, not a lot of at bats(30 PA against both RHP and LHP) but pretty large splits for Collins, hitting great against RHP but striking out a ton and not hitting against LHP but rarely striking out.

Priester will knock the Astros on their Kiester!
Framber will try to come out of this with glamour,
but afterwards all he will be able to do is stammer!

Put on the cleats AND beat these cheats!
One, two, and now three defeats!
I like these winning repeats!
Postgame locker room will have some good beats!

Wouldn't be surprised if Vinny has a nice day at the plate.

I’d actually be very surprised.

I was planning to attend the Biloxi / Pensacola game today but it was rained out

So, I will watch the Brewers / Astros from my condo balcony

I hope Priester keeps this game competitive so I can stay engaged

He's an atrociously bad MLB hitter, so that result would always surprise me.

He must have eyes around his crotch (Capra sucks though).

That can't be accurate, I just rewound it and yes not his eyes but at the letters.

Capra is an all-time “good guy” & quality person … but he has been woeful with the bat post Spring Training

I’d love to see him get on track since he is a high character guy & apparently a great teammate

We have excellent young middle infielders in the lower minors - they will arrive soon

2027 should be a fun season for the Brewers

Old man rant … If I had a pair of scissors & was near the Astros dugout, it would give me immense pelasure to trim Valdez’s hair all the way up to his cap
