Three consecutive sweeps. Two consecutive sweeps vs the Dodgers. What a time to be alive. With a system overflowing with talent, the Brewers are truly set up to bolster their weaknesses and make a legitimate run at this thing. What an incredible run they are on! Here's hoping Arnold and the personnel staff press the right buttons. 👏

Or at least don't press any wrong ones! 🙏

Irrelevant but interesting question (to me):

Are there any legitimate reasons Milwaukee should not be the # 1 team on MLB.com Power Rankings tomorrow?

Tigers have lost six straight entering today. Brewers have best record against winning teams in all of baseball.

In seriousness, what would ’going for it’ even look like in 2025? We traded for Sabathia in 2008, Grienke for 2011. Moustakas in 2018.

I think targeting some meaningful depth and help at 1B/3B and in the bullpen makes sense. I personally don't think the Brewers need to make resoundingly big moves. But, I also wouldn't begrudge them one iota if they sought to grab top of the shelf rentals for a post-season run. I don't think you can turn a blind eye as an org but I also don't think messing with the clubhouse chemistry makes all that much sense either. In other words: I have absolutely no idea. 😅 I love this Vaughn story at present - we caught lightning in a bottle at the dish. But, I continue to have major doubts this type of production lasts and I have major concerns about his defense (as seen in that inexplicable botched catch after yet another incredible play by Joey Ortiz). He's a great story now. I wouldn't rely on it lasting into the post-season in any shape or fashion.

I wouldn't completely fault the team saying that Priester, Vaughn and Woody count as the deadline acquisitions this year.

I would prefer they get some higher end talent to supplement but they are playing great baseball with this group

I think a lefty reliever to replace Koenig as high leverage would help

a legitimate bat that supplants Contreras as a three hitter would be perfect but what position and how much would it cost

There isn’t a Sabathia or Greinke available let alone someone like Moustakas.  Naylor from the Dbacks may be the closest thing to Moustakas.

This is a piss poor trade market.

I understand he has full no trade clause but do the Rangers need two more years of deGrom?

I don’t believe the Rangers will eat enough of that remaining contract for it to make sense to trade him.  I believe he is owed about $38mm each season for the next two years?  Then there is a team option for a third year.

I am still adjusting to the new MLB rule that you can score runs without HRs.

Putting balls in play and stealing bases  is allowed....Who knew?

ESPN is at it again - Brewers sweep the Dodgers, win 10th game in a row and they don't show up on the MLB front page.  The bias is sickening.   They are the hottest team in baseball since late May after losing 7-0 to the Twins.

Another big win for the guys today.   And they finally caught the Cubs.

Don’t get me wrong.   I love bombs but baseball is a lot better to watch then being force fed beer league slow pitch softball like the recent past

If the Brewers go,on to lose this game I will choose to look at the weekend this way:

While playing the World Champions on the road, the Brewers:

Lost no ground to the Cubs

Gained a game on the Dodgers

Gained a game on the Phillies

Gained a game on the Mets

Gained a game (and maybe 2) on the Cardinals

Gained  2 games on the Giants

Lost no ground to the Padres or Reds

Anyone who says they wouldn’t have been thrilled with that on Friday afternoon is lying

I'm thrilled too man, but I feel like your're overthinking this.

lean into enthusiasm, but enjoy it for what it is now.. it's july, the standings mean little.

I told my wife tonight were watching the game in real time as this is a special time in Brewers history.  I say that as someone who often avoids scores and small talk at work so I can watch each night with my thumb on the fast forward button

Collins picks up Contreras. Feeling like that has happened alot.

I'm currently choosing to be positive about bill. his bat has not what we expected but the pitching staff is just performing so well I have to think he's a big part of it.   I can tolerate his downswing while we get his pitch calling and defensive prowess. intangible is the word I'm thinking of?
