I will say this.  Perkins has been productive as a brewer.   Underrated player for us

Yes. He should be an everyday player with Churio hurt

Why would he have to play the field more?

Frelick, Collins, Perkins will likely play most of the OF

I think Yelich will probably get a slight uptick at time in LF while Chourio is out, maybe a start or two a week.

But yeah, mostly business as usual with Perkins just straight subbing for Chourio.

It'd be nice for Quintana to eat up some innings with the big lead, but it's also a nice opportunity to get some guys like Koenig/Mears/McGee who have been a little iffy recently some innings to work through some stuff as well if Jose can't stretch out past the 5th.

Quintana really locked down there. I'm guessing that's it for him on the night. Not the most efficient game, but I'll take 2 runs over 5 innings from the 5th starter.

Quintana is just a guy who doesn’t have the best arm or best stuff anymore but is a smart and savvy pitcher who just happens to find it in the right moments and the games where you’re certain he’s been stinking up the joint all game you look up and he’s somehow through 5 with 2 runs allowed.

I don’t quite know what he saw in Lockridge’s profile that made him think, “I need to get this guy the most possible ABs of anyone on the team in the first game from the first day he walks in the door.”

He is fast and scrappy. That means he is a leadoff hitter

Ortiz looks like he’s finding his stroke. If so, that could be huge for the Brewers in the final 1/3 of the season.

Doesn't really matter.  They've made their decision.  Ortiz is their ride or die at short.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

When it was 9-2 with the bases loaded I was having dreams of a 15 run lead and a position player pitching. With no Bauers, I believe they currently have zero career appearances amongst the position player group. Anybody know who would be the guy at this point?

I agree that they made their choice to stick with Ortiz

I believe it does matter … if he comes around & improves his batting, it makes Milwaukee a much better team come playoffs

My guess would be Seigler. Believe he is ambidextrous and was a switch pitcher in high school.
