Did Rock comment that he likes the infield fly rule? Really Rock? I wasn't aware that there was any controversy surrounding that rule.

LOL, it was implemented in 1895.

Yeah what a weird thing to say. In a world where everyone argues about everything not once have I heard anyone get up on a soapbox and talk about how the infield fly rule needs to go.

The only “controversy” is that a lot of people don’t understand it even though it really isn’t that complicated if you understand why it’s there.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

While the Brewers are going to add more stress to their bullpen trying to struggle through nine innings today, the Blue Jays are sitting home with their feet up getting ready to welcome the Brewers with Bieber, Gausman, and Scherzer.

We really need the cubs to flail around at this point

Maybe he's sarcastically grateful that it's all but impossible to make an error when it's called? :-/

Not down by 1 in the 3rd.

Might be 4 before they even record another hit the way Jose Nibbles is finding the strike zone.

Maybe the Brewers can fall behind 10-2 then pull, off a comeback like the one they had against the DBacks last September. It’s looking like that’s what it will take.

I feel like I’m being punished for some positive thoughts I had about Quintana in the first inning because he was really hitting or just missing the edges. That sure didn’t last.

I am peeking at game via ESPN Gamecast. Really glad I am not watching, looks unbearable.

Same here.  I don't quite have the nerve to listen to the MLB audio.

At least on Gamecast it looks like he's getting squeezed a bit, are all of these  actually balls?

Yes, he’s not getting squeezed. Just missing by a ball or two quite often

Tough start for the guys and makes not winning last night sting even more.  Good thing that the Phillies and Cubs both lost last night, but it would have been nice to have a bit of separation and momentum heading into the Phillies/Toronto series.

Oh well, as we say in basketball or football.  Get through this game without injuries or burning the bullpen and play for another day.

I am going to be thrilled not having to face this Dbacks squad anymore this season/postseason - just feels like a pain in the butt lineup to face.

Getting them towards the end of this crazy consecutive games/one fewer day stretch just sucks

That feels like the knockout blow.

I believe we've come back from more than 4 runs before, but this certainly can't continue, and is not great when we could use some innings out of him.

My take for the past couple of years was that a typical Brewers loss was 2-1: good pitching, no hitting. Lately it seems like a typical loss is no pitching and not quite enough hitting.

Assuming they are healthy....   Peralta, Woody, and Priester look like our pretty clear "top 3" heading into the playoffs.  If we need a 4th, maybe a Miz/Ashby piggyback?

Hopefully Q can eat some innings for us today.  Though even down 6-2, he's already thrown 80 pitches through 3 innings.  Probably going to see Megee a bunch today

These guys are collectively just playing some bad baseball.

replace bad with tired - basically the same either way and generally agreed.

Sounds weird to say since you always want to play to win every day - but in the grand scheme of things this ballgame feels like one the Brewers would almost be better off punting/getting pasted if it means saving their key pen arms.  Who do they have in the pen today that can wear 4ish innings before Seigler comes in to mop up on the mound?
