Made has now officially passed the Chourio trajectory. Chourio was not invited to big league camp as a teenager in 2023.

Nothing particularly surprising about any of the position players. Either catcher depth or guys who could reach the bigs in 26/27.

kuehner is interesting. He’s a bit on the older side since he turns 25 next month. I wonder if he’s going to be transitioned to a reliever with the potential of joining the shuttle squad at some point in 2026.

A minor league contract is a nice surprise. I doubt it means a lot but I figured he would get a major league deal

He fits part of the Brewer profile--despite mostly pedestrian numbers in pro ball he can run & draws his share of walks (but with a lot of swing-and-miss).

It's noticeable how many of these guys they take flyers on are former 1st or 2nd round picks.

I'm sure I will go on to regret this and Jordyn will go on to be an all star for the Brewers (one can hope), but how many of these guys do the Brewers really need?  I know its the current Brewer approach, but wouldn't some diversity in talent be a good thing?  It would be nice to see a slow lumbering power hitting RF get added once in a while.

I don't think it's an upside play. More likely they just sign these guys in case of multiple injuries, they can come up and play CF and bat 9th and hit ground balls. Guaranteed value if needed instead of the slow power bat that might strike out all the time and get cut after 100 ABs even though he was just crushing AAA.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

This guy is going to be Daz Cameron on this year's team. That player you go a few years later "wait that guy was a Brewer?" Or the dude with the really bleached dreads? See I forgot his name already.

Lots of reasons to sign players in the minors even if/when both parties understand the player will likely never sniff the Majors again.

Don't get me wrong, the Brewers can sign all of the minor league free agents that they want. No risk there and I'm not worried about having too many players as these things work themselves out in spring training.  Just seems like a they could have signed a few guys to address the biggest weakness the Brewers have in lack of power.  Between Perkins, Lockridge, Berroa, Baddoo, Hurtubise, Jordyn Adams, and Dasan Brown, we clearly have addressed the 9th inning OF defensive replacement / pinch runner role.

I think the minors signing and non roster invite is much ado about nothing. It could just easily be they did this for the players to get ready for the season and advertise for another team. I'd guess the contract has a date to be added to ML roster or they can opt out after such amount of days has passed. ST is like 2+ teams playing 1-3 innings to start. Add Split Squad two games on 1 day these players have a purpose.

These signings are made every single year. They are bottom of the 40-man/AAA depth. When someone eventually gets injured and Badoo/Berroa/Lockridge get called up someone is going to have to man the outfield grass in Nashville. And you sometimes get gems like Perkins.

Just the regular ho-hum of the late off season
