Yuck

NRI?  Sure.  Guaranteed $?  No thanks.

Reece McGuire had a better season than Sanchez in 2025 and Gary gets the MLB contract. Makes no sense.

Reece underlining numbers were horrible -

I can't imagine Sanchez' were very good.

Significantly better than McGuire's. First image is last three seasons and  second image is just last season.image.png.d6e74d63347739d8b566dbc76b8cbc03.png

He makes a lot more sense than McGuire to me since he can platoon with Yelich at DH and at that price yeah sure whatever.

The only thing I could think of is....

¿Quién y dónde está Quero?

When will Quero be able to sniff the big club?

He needs to show he can at least marginally control the running game post shoulder surgery before he gets a chance.

I liked Sanchez and was sad to see him go last year. Just a pretty solid 100wRC+ bat that can play backup C and fill in as DH in a pinch for around league min salary. If he gets cut mid season it won't kill the yearly budget.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Yeah that's better.

Still don't like giving him guaranteed money.

I’m confused as to Arnold’s most recent moves. He guts the left side of his infield and then signs McGuire and Sanchez as possible backup catchers with a young and promising Quero available. Unless he doesn’t have much faith in Quero’s future (especially defensively) any more.

I don't think Quero is playable right now due to his caught stealing numbers since the injury. I'm hoping someone posts the numbers.

Quero needs to catch every day in Nashville and show that he can handle the daily grind. He did a fair amount of DH-ing last year coming off the injury.

It was a pretty massive drop off.

In the 2022 AFL, Quero had a 46% CS when league average was 19%

In the 2023 Southern League, Quero had a 35% CS when league average was 22%

In the 2025 International League, Quero had a 19% CS when the league average was 21% (Nashville as a team had 24% so Quero was significantly worse than the team average)

In the 2025 VeWL, Quero had an 8% CS when the league average was 32%

Yes they're not gonna bring up Quero to play once every 7-10 days. I don't see how anyone was expecting that to happen.  If Contreras goes down I'd expect him to be up though and playing at least half the games, assuming things go well for him this year.

Besides being bad for his development, its also bad for the brewers long term to use up a year of service not playing

Not sure why Signing Sanchez to a 1 year contract at minimal dollars to back up Contreras once a week would say anything about Quero’s future.

He needs to play

Quero isn't coming up for the same reason you wouldn't bring Cooper Pratt up right now to sit 6 days a week.

I saw that the Phillies have told Castellnos to stay home. Does he make sense as a bat to add some juice if the Phillies are picking up most of the table? The guy can still hit.

No. Not a good hitter anymore.
