That bunting woodpecker(?) is troubling in so many ways. Is that how he was coached to place his, err, are those wing talons?

I like the bunting because A: They're pretty good at it and B: Forcing people to honor it creates some tougher angles for an INF. I think at times it's gotten into opponents' heads. Keep that up; keep going deep into counts. It's a different kind of pressure than what you can apply when you aren't down 3 bats. Do what you can.

Nothing earth-shattering but I think some secondary bats are slowly returning to norm. Rengifo is 4 for his last 15 w/only one K. Frelick 5-14; Hamilton is 6 for his last 12. Even Matos is 3 for his last 11. And Perkins' ABs look much better.

Sean Wright thinks Tyler Black is on his way up. I would assume a Greg Jones swap if true? I had assumed if Black wasn't hurt a week ago it would have been him over Jones.

Finally get some NL Central action. Even with Skenes pitching actually optimistic these games with Woodruff/Miz/Harrison going. Like their chances with all three pitching in any series.

Yes not a real insider. They take online speculation and rumors that are realistic and then pretend to actually have inside info. It was pretty widely speculated online last night that Black would be called up today after he was removed from the Nashville lineup before their game started last night.

My best guess on that and others was that it was based on who they plan on PHing for when a lefty comes in later in the game and who they don't.    My guess is Black is one they plan on the PH

Who do you want to hit cleanup? Mitchell and his 39% K-rate? Outside of Mitchell your options are Rengifo, Frelick, Lockridge, or Hamilton

Sanchez isn't in the lineup. Your options in the lineup are Black, Rengifo, Mitchell (39% K-rate), Frelick, Lockridge, and Hamilton. Is it really insane to have Black hitting cleanup out of those options?

Black isn't the greatest fit for the roster since the only place you can semi-trust his glove is at 1B & you already have a LHH there in Bauers. He'll share DH with Sanchez, PR & maybe PH.

I'm a little surprised Matos was removed. Not that they'll miss him terribly, but IMO he's a bit better fit than Jones at this time.

So I'll say that while I'm not trying to be unkind and I'm not wildly optimistic about Black's likely performance I do think he makes more sense on this roster right now than Matos did.
