I remember when Sproat was talked about as a potential trade piece, I don't recall stuff like this.

People were saying Tong was the guy with the bigger fastball and potential.

Watching Joey at bat isn’t fun….. but at SS……it’s beautiful

And for every stunner like that there are 3 or 4 plays that he make look routine when they're actually pretty tough.  He's had a couple of those already.

We're in that weird spot where we desperately need a 3B, Jett Williams is mashing in AAA, but I'm sure we want to wait for Super Two.

What is the calendar date for the Super Twos?

Benefit of a low strike 3 call...but that last AB was pure filth out of Sproat with a heater with run, change, and hammer curve.

He is settling in quite nicely into the rotation despite a few too many walks for my liking, still.

Sproat will be a guy we will let develop at the ML level. With a little more command, he will be a stud.

Also I hope the Cubs keep hitting everything at Joey.

Yup! Just... love that trade.

He already looks absolutely filthy at times as he did that last AB. Nobody in the league is hitting him when he's throwing those three pitches.

Has there been another hitter who didn't really figure it out until he was 29/30?  I can name a few who figured it out at 27, but I'm struggling to think of anyone who became a very good hitter after that.

Exit velocity is overrated. 2-0

80 mph exit velocity doesn't make a ball go 420 feet.

That surprises me, maybe as much as Bauers getting the start vs the lefty. Given the way he's swinging the bat I'm fine with it, just can't say I expected it.

Don't mind me.😄

Backspin and the weird ass win patter in this armpit of a stadium does sometimes.

This is the perfect way to remind cub fans who havent seen their team lose a game at wrigley in a very long time, and have already had two 10 game winning streaks in the first ~60 days of the season that their team still has a daddy in this division.
