They really don't have anybody who is. Uribe is best, but he is not what I'd want to call my best in the playoffs. They really need somebody.

They need a minimum of two relievers. Kuhnel is dog crap and should be DFAed tomorrow.

as it stands right now they are going to need the rotation to eat up a ton of innings in the playoffs.

Anybody who is still in denial about the holes in this roster just because of their record and thinks we'll be just fine come October needs a reality check. Unless MLB lets every team qualify for the playoffs within the next three months, we're not making a deep playoff run with the roster we have now.

I don’t think that’s what happened on that 2-1 pitch. I think he was zeroing in on a changeup and that’s why he took it.

He actually still had a decent pitch to elevate on 2-2 and hit it on the ground.

The Brewers have to implement a take sign. This team doesn't understand fundamental baseball. They need help. Murphy please I beg. Put it on. Joey O swinging 3-0 3-1 should never ever happen. Pratt same. Help them with the decision making.

Halfway through the season with 50 wins. Lost a series and an opportunity to extend the divisional lead when throwing your top starters. Lets the Cubs hang around in the division race.

Seeing some of the warts on the team that does have a .617 winning percentage and 2nd-best in the league standings. Need to figure out the RISP batting situation. Probably at least one arm short in the pitching staff right now. Might be the same with a bat in the lineup.

I'm predicting 4-14 into the All Star Break to come back to earth.  Needing starters to go 7 due to the lack of bullpen depth and getting no run support from a lineup that gets shut down by pitchers who have been lit up by AAA lineups this year and is a recipe for a bad stretch of ball.

I blame that absurdly timed Trueblood article some weeks ago. Dirty play by a Cubs fan. The moment they chose to publish that hogwash I knew a bad stretch of baseball was coming.

You don't tempt the baseball fates with nonsense. And here we are.

I usually try to not get too high or too low. MLB seasons are a long slog. But this game right here is literally infuriating. How does this team have the record they have right now? They are playing like a bottom tier team. Man I'm literally angry at a baseball game. Time for a break. Sorry just needed to vent somewhere.

Pratt has been in the league for 2 weeks and there’s already a book out on him that he can’t lay off a high fastball.

If he can’t fix that, it’s going to be hard for him to develop into even an average major league hitter.

And they have to be a lot smarter about using the hitters they do have.

It’s probably overreacting but if Arnold doesn’t do something to fix the bullpen and fast, I think the division lead will basically be gone by the ASB. We have 2 relievers you can trust right now.

I don’t know what they can do in the short term to help, much less fix, the bullpen.

But the division lead being all or mostly gone by the All Star break is a real possibility. Maybe a home series with the Reds will help, but the Brewers can’t hit anyone right now and it’s hard to see how they’ll cover nine innings with Gasser, Sproat, and Drohan starting.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I have very little faith that the current hitting coaching staff will fix him.

Please take a deep breath. They have 81 games to go until season’s end. It’s possible they may not even make the playoffs. If I were you I’d be most concerned with the upcoming 4 games with the Reds.

Exactly.   This team might be able to get by with the Division title and get a bye.  But with the roster we have the Dodgers for sure will eat us alive again if we make it past the first round.

The gm must be held accountable. Do something with the holes in the roster.

Hahaha, yeah fire him!!

The Cubs won 2 out of 3 against the Brewers top 3 starters while putting trash on the mound themselves.

They have exposed the weaknesses in both the Brewers pitching and hitting.

If you think the Cubs aren’t going home thinking they are the best team in the division you aren’t paying attention. They endured their rough spot and now are ready to make hay while the Brewers go through theirs.

What’s the weak spot? The Cubs took the series on a one run game in extra innings. Cubs patched together bullpen was nails the last two games. 11 1/3 IP,  1 ER, 6H 4BB, 13K.

in baseball sometimes  you just get beat.

How about this. $100 bet. Brewers play 500 ball or better I win. Below you win.

I don’t think you can predict Pratt’s future a dozen games into his MLB career. `Give the guy a chance.

Realistically, they must DFA Kuhnel and bring up a starter that can provide length out of the pen. They need a piggy back game tomorrow or Tuesday where they give the full pen a day off and go Drohan + whoever for all 9. They cannot survive this stretch point what they’re doing.

A week ago, I said the Dodgers and Braves would surely beat us in the playoffs. I think we can add the Phillies to the list.

What is a deep run? Like last year? You betting on the Dodgers? Obviously, everyone would take the Dodgers against anyone in baseball.

Oh, they'll still make the playoffs, but that's about it.
