2026 Draftee Signing Thread

Side note: appreciate bf but kind of annoyed with the BF signing  “tracker” feature this year. Reports have been out for a week now of signings that aren’t being reflected.

The Brewers are $129,100 over slot through the Ebel, Strosnider, Jones, Garcia, Oshinskie, Tom, Mora, and Gaines signings.

Counting the 5% overage the Brewers still have $962,545 left to spend with Knaak and Hill still needing to be signed in rounds 1-10.

I wonder if we'll be able to get Knaak and Hill below slot...

For us to get Bell  (and sign Knaak & Hill), that probably will eat up the majority of our remaining pool, not leaving much to go over $150k for the remaining draftees in Rounds 11-20

Knaak needs to come a good amount below slot for that to happen. I personally do not like his pitch mix whatsoever so I am really hoping its a small bonus. The plus changeup is fun but he has no feel for spin and the fastball shape is gonna get absolutely blasted against better competition.

I was told not to talk about Ruby's bonus until it became official, but I think this is a steal to not have to use any slot money to sign him.

Gavin Perry got $150,000

Marcus Cruzan got $125,000

So that gives $64k extra to work with. And Knaack remaining (who should be slot right as a college pitcher). Then the big 4 HS - who hopefully we can sign at least 2 of hart, Bell, Havard, Maiorana.

Grant Hill signed for $200K. That's $64,100 under slot and leaves the Brewers $65,000 over slot through the Ebel, Strosnider, Jones, Garcia, Oshinski, Hill, Tom, Mora, and Gaines signings. 

Counting the 5% overage the Brewers still have $762,545 left to spend. Knaak is the only round 1-10 guy left to sign.

The only round 11-20 picks that haven't signed are Hart, Bell, Maiorana, and Havard. The other round 11-20 picks all signed for $150K or lower so nothing counts against the bonus pool.

Alternatively, the 5% overage for the 9 top-10 picks they have signed is $380,875, so they have only $315,875 remaining of excess to sign the 13-16 guys (plus anything additional they save should they sign Knaak for less than slot.)  I think it was Arnold who said he was confident that they would sign the top 4....

It would be pretty shocking if Knaak doesn't sign. I imagine the "top 4 will sign comment" was because the first day of the draft was 4 rounds so top 4 would be day 1 of the draft.

Well looks like Knaak might not be signing based on an MLB Pipeline article that came out tonight. If that's the case the Brewers will have $315,875 left to sign the group of Hart, Bell, Maiorana, and Havard. Anything they sign over $150K would count towards that bonus pool.

Man Knaak would be absolutely foolish not to sign. I can't imagine the NIL at Clemson is anywhere close to what he can get even in an underslot deal. Also he is not very good right now why wouldn't you want to be in the Brewers pitcher development system? All risk no reward but hey its his choice at the end of the day.

We gotta be low balling Knaak or what am I missing? I look at his numbers and they don't scream overslot bonus.

I'd be surprised if we don't sign Knaak. That would be the second time in 3 years in which we fail to sign a top 10 pick. You'd think our FO would have a good idea of how much these guys would sign for before drafting them.
