Nice job getting a series win after losing the first. A quality start by May but he should be able to do better. Wish the Blue Jays could have scored more than 2 with 10 hits but hopefully hold on.

could've sworn they weren't gonna win another game after Monday

Haha. The demise of the Brewers may have been slightly exaggerated on the Monday game thread.

A grinder for Dustin May. Pittsburgh put up some tough, disciplined ABs early, fouled off about 578 pitches (that seems to happen a lot lately), and compared to how he usually works, Mays' command really kinda stunk. Perhaps the emotion of a debut, maybe the longer layoff than usual, but that's a veteran finding a way to get through six vs a not-too-bad lineup. Well done.

The Pirates have the tendency to give you extra outs, extra bases. I think that holds them back right now. But offensively that's a pretty nice position player group, especially considering the people who are out hurt.

Brewers schedule gonna get a lot tougher now into end of year

Yeah.   I was hoping to open up some more space these last couple of weeks but that didn’t happen

hopefully it doesn’t bite us in the butt

Play of the game for me was clearly the Mitchell outfield assist in the 4th inning. Felt like that inning was trending towards disastrous for May. Instead of 2-2 with runners on the corners and no outs it went to 2-2 with a runner on 1B with one out. Game changer. It was a good throw but also a smart throw. Could have tried to throw home where the run was almost certainly scoring but read the situation very well.

Brewers won the trade deadline over the Dodgers!!!!! Skubal couldn’t even get a win for the Dodgers in his first start!!!!!

One thing Dustin may needs to learn is we don’t do blow up innings around here if you are a starter.    The two he gave up in an inning is the max.      Our defense saved him today

only our middle relievers are allowed to blow up. 😀

Not sure if it will end up mattering or not but the Blue Jays 2nd baseman just made one of the best defensive plays I’ve seen all season or the game would be over.
