Those last two innings had Wilson written all over them. But, like someone said here, getting that information about Sproat, without it costing you much beyond 15 Uribe pitches, is valuable.

Talk about a lesson in expectations. The Brewers played by far their best game of the series tonight to cap off a sweep, and, because it went from 8-1 to 8-6, it feels much shakier than the two, last AB comebacks yesterday and the day before.

They just swept the Cubs.  The Cubs are much closer to being the 7th seed in a 6 team tournament than they are to the Brewers.  Enjoy it.  One terrible outing from a reliever that wont pitch in the postseason in a game that they won anyway shouldn't ruin that.

They just went 5-2 against the Cubs and practically took control of the division but one outing from someone in the 9th ruined the joy lol

Some of us are ticked off by a guy named Sproat.   See my post above with his pitching line.  But yeah, I am glad the Brewers won.

Sproat's 9th inning was like someone's flatulence at the table after a good meal: the dinner was great, but you can't ignore that horrible smell.

Busch had 2 balls that should have been called strikes. Why didn’t Contreras challenge especially in the 9th?

Too many better options if Sproat is going to be that bad out of the bullpen.  Stallings, Koenig, find a 40-man spot and give some innings to Cam Wagoner.  

Similarly for the September additions, Naylor has played one game (and stunk).  Could we not get more usage out of Lockridge, or anyone else?

That said, we're now complaining about the 27th and 28th roster spots after a sweep.  I love when that's the top of the list of things to complain about.

People can be thrilled about the sweep and simultaneously be bummed that Sproat continued to disappoint in his return. They are not mutually exclusive.

Sproat out.  Crow in for a spot start.

Then Stallings or Gordon.

Sproat is going to have to have a big off-season.  Miz, Hendo, Harrison, Gasser, Priester. Drohan are all in front of Sproat.  And I would not be surprised at a vet like May coming in.

Great series for the Brewers, demoralized the Cubs and increased their lead over the Braves, nearly securing a first round bye. Don't know why anybody would get too worked up about a garbage time reliever that has no chance of being on the playoff.roster.

It’s kind of a win / win really.   You now have your guy that can just burn on the mound and get pounded and we swept the Cubs.   That was annoying as hell but he won’t sniff the playoff roster so, whatever.

I think it’s just that a lot of people had really high hopes for the guy and there’s kind of an increasing possibility that those hopes are never going to come to fruition.
