.. also our trade deadline would be a general flop and Sproat, Patrick, Woodruff, and Drohan** wouldn't pitch.

What on earth.

...also that out of the three players we got in the Durbin trade (Harrison, Drohan, Hamilton), Hamilton would be the one who would have a HUGE role in making it to the World Series, including the best OPS on the team.

Speaking of which, if there is one ex Brewer who I was sad wasn't a part of the celebration last night, it's Caleb Durbin. That dude seemed like the perfect fit for this RELENTLESS club persona. But after what Hamilton did last night and this postseason, I'm glad we made the trade.

Murphy has something Counsell never got; a pennant. Since only pennant-winning managers earn a spot on the Wall of Honor, Murphy’s day is coming. Counsell’s isn’t.

As much as I love booing Counsell, for that reason, we maybe should start giving him a standing O. If Counsell is never our manager, than Murphy is never in the Brewers organization. If Counsell hadn't left and Murphy took his place, I don't think we are in the World Series.

So Greg, here's to you! Thanks for coming, and thanks for LEAVING!

I think it has finally settled in.

The 2026 Milwaukee Brewers are in the World Series!

I stayed up watching all the stuff until about 1:00 am last night, didn't have to go to work today, so why not.  Just took it all in, and even as I went to bed, it didn't fully set in.

It has today, and man-o-man, it is just the best feeling in the world!  It;s truly a dream come true!  Now we have to finish the business we set out to get done...

Stay tuned Brewerfan, there is still a lot of season left!!

I've been on the Uecker Series bandwagon.

I want Milwaukee vs Cleveland to pit Uecker's real team vs his hollywood team

I've been calling that the Uecker series in my head as well.

Either we're going to get the two best teams playing each other, or the Uecker series.

Congrats to the Brewers.  I will be the first to admit that I never thought they would get past the Dodgers, and am happy to be wrong.  Outside of Misiorowski, I thought this pitching staff would fade.  Instead they thrived.  I thought that while the lineup is built for a consistent, long-haul regular season performance, that there just wasn't enough big bopper in there to get them past the Dodgers.  They pretty much excelled in all areas, really putting on quite a show right now.

Hot take: Dustin May gave up a three-run homer and then proceeded to compose himself to pitch another two scoreless innings. I get his line is awful, but props to him rebounding to make the comeback possible. I feel that at least deserves a slight tip of the cap.

Not sure I care to see him on the WS roster…but dude battled back just like the rest of the team has the entire postseason.

Most likely because they figured they were going to lose and may as well let him eat a couple innings. No need to pile on May any further though.

Just a feeling of euphoria this morning knowing my team is going to be in the Fall Classic a week from now!  I don't care who they play, just want them to finish the job and bring a title to Milwaukee!

Sidenote - I won't ever write off the Dodgers as an annual favorite under the current financial playing field that has allowed them to become what they are....but that roster suddenly looks pretty long in the tooth.  So much of that opinion has to do with Ohtani showing more and more signs of physical breakdown as he moves towards his mid-30s....but Snell/Glasnow/Betts are or will be 34 next year,  Muncy is 36, Freeman is 37, Smith will be 32 - I'm not saying they'll fall apart or won't be able to reload even under what I hope will be a much fairer set of financial rules that don't allow a team's ownership group to play financing shell games between their other companies and the organization to leverage unethical revenue streams, but seeing that team go down against a Brewers team that is loaded up with early to mid-20's talent with a few key veterans (Yelich at 34 being the key veteran "elder statesman") was so refreshing....it reminded me at ton of that Marlins team loaded up with young pitching and Miggy Cabrera with Pudge and Lowell taking down the Yankees - which sort of slammed the door on those 1990s/early 2000s Yankee teams who made World Series appearances routine.

Joe Davis was awful this series and hopefully he's better in the WS, but his call to end last year's WS has been ringing in my head for some reason this morning.....

"To beat the champs, you gotta knock 'em out."

Oh yeah, that's right. Our Milwaukee Brewers just did. BROOMS BABY.

So long as it's not Joe Buck, I'm good.

Joe Davis should have never, I mean NEVER, been allowed to call a Dodger series in the playoffs.

We were robbed of someone who can actually see things for what they were, not a damn homer sad sack.

SCREW JOE DAVIS and SCREW WHOEVER MADE THE DECISION FOR HIM TO CALL A DODGER PLAYOFF SERIES!

Pancakes doesn't realize there are a half dozen guys on this chat board who know the game of baseball far better than he does, and who would never make a mistake managing a baseball game.

So much of Hamilton's success is just being in the right position. Murphy and the Brewers FO do that better than anyone. They win on depth, understanding, and preparation.

This feels a lot like the Bucks 2021 Championship run and Packers 2011 SB for me and how I felt during each run. Bear in mind my default is expecting to be let down...

For all 3 teams, it started with lots of build up over several seasons, increased expectations, and plenty of playoff heartbreak.

Each led to a to playoff game/series where we had to slay a dragon/nemesis or superteam (

In all 3 instances (PHI/ATL in 2011, Nets in 2021, SD series + beginning of LA series this year), I expected to be let down yet again - but each team made it and my mind flipped to expecting to win and finish the job (Bears/Steelers in 2011, Hawks/Suns in 2021, and 2026 LA game 4 plus pending World Series opponent).

Man I hope this is a repeat of 2011/2021...

Heres to this team and this fanbase not having any sort of "happy to be here" mentaility. We are the best team hands down and should be the Champs. Go Crew!!!

I mean he's the FOX play by play guy, has been for years, so this isn't a surprise. Just like Brian Anderson could call a Brewers game next year when TBS handles the NL slate.

This kinda feels like the Badgers run to the championship in 2015. We expected a deep run but to witness it actually happen was euphoric. We don't get these opportunities often as Wisconsin sports fans.

Yount makes the final out on a liner in 1982. Jackson Chourio makes the final out on a liner in 2026. From one "kid" to another. We are living in a simulation folks.

Key is Brewers still have an opportunity to finish the job.

Great points. Pat Murphy was the right guy to get the most out of this team. Chemistry is a funny thing. In June of 1982, what baseball execs would've thought Harvey Kuenn would be a better manager than Buck Rodgers?

In hindsight, Counsell leaving was a great thing for the Brewer organization.

Hot take: I thought Davis was fine. The only really bad call was Chourio's leadoff homer, but that was more the fault of the entire broadcast team because they weren't ready, and the sun made it tough to see how far that ball was going.

I'm not usually a "screw the national media" guy, but hoo boy, the Brewers are really getting no respect when it comes to air time today. I recorded Get Up, First Take, and the Dan Patrick Show, and Thursday Night Football is getting more discussion than the Brewers. And most of the talk about the game is about the Dodgers and impending labor issues.
