The Martinez choice objectively makes this game easier compared to Rasmussen, but for the same reason it amps up the pressure. Miz versus not one of their top two guys in Milwaukee. We have to win this.

Skubal, Yamamoto, Snell, Glasnow.

And we’re to fear Rasmussen, Freddy, Martinez?

I don’t know if it matters. Miz has lost some of his spin rate and command, and may not get it back until next year. He was really mediocre results-wise in two games and we won anyway against very good opposing pitching. All of LA’s murderer’s row of starting pitchers were dealing…until they weren’t. They’re history now.

Nothing against the Rays pitchers, but if the Brewers don’t get it done, the story should be that they did not play up to their potential and did things (chasing balls, committing egregious errors) that were anomalous to the team that has won 110 games to date with by far the best run differential.

Last night my wife said to me: "Today is the last day of your life when the Brewers have never played in the World Series." (I was born after 1982)

I'm hoping I have about a week left of living in a world where the Brewers have never won the World Series.

The Dodgers' pitchers have more pedigree and name recognition, but honestly, the best starting pitcher the Brewers faced this postseason was King, and no casual baseball fan even knows his name. Rasmussen is an ace, Freddy is very effective, and Martinez was 15-6. They're very, very good. Where we beat those other pitchers was hiking up their pitch count and getting into their bullpen - they were still quite effective when they were in the game. Let's see how this plays out - the Rays are capable of beating us rather than the Brewers losing...

I was on edge for SD, but after sweeping the Dodgers I can't make myself feel anything but confident. Whether it's hubris or prescience time will tell, but every indication is this team is a monster and will take down everyone in their path.

My joined date says March 10th 2006.  20 years but this IGT is like no other.   I can’t believe this is happening.  I’m so nervous but I’ll settle in once I disagree with some posters or despise a move that Murphy makes that ultimately proves Murphy correct and me that moron that I truly am.   Let’s F’n go!!!!

Already announced roof and panels will be closed

It should get loud. The Brewer fans can make an impact in this one, and in the whole series I think (I’ve seen numbers on the resale market to suggest that the crowds in Tampa could have a lot of Brewers fans—not 50/50, but way more than what the LA games had).

Time for Miz to show up and play his part bringing home a World Series. Everyone sucks against 100+ heat, but the Rays manage to suck even more. Looking forward to 7+ from Miz.

Can't believe we are here.

I arrive confident yet at peace and oddly a little nostalgic somehow. I'm gonna miss this team. We have at least 4 games left with them... I'm going to enjoy this, come what may.

Let's fricken go. Take care of business for one more week then let's party forever.

I actually have a Halloween thing with the wife and kid tonight so I'm going to catch the first couple innings and then try to sneak peeks on my phone while I can and hopefully be home before the end. Feels a bit blasphemous but there's going to be a lot of baseball played in this series.

As for predictions...I think Caminero gets a HR off of Miz tonight but otherwise he's solid through 5+ and we pick up a 5-2 win with relatively low drama. Chourio and Contreras both go deep for us and the defense is solid.

The first stage of covering themselves in eternal glory starts today.

Take no prisoners Brewers, and leave it all on the field.

Give the opposition plenty to think about for the following three games. Get inside their heads and under their skin.
