Woodruff said Murphy called to the pen and asked him if he wanted to close it out tonight or start the game tomorrow and Woodruff said he wanted to close it out tonight

Really interesting factoid. Thanks for sharing.

I find that right now, I am strangely calm. I think this will change as we get closer to first pitch tomorrow.

I've accepted that it's happening. What I haven't conceptualized is that we're watching one of the all-time great postseason runs in the history of baseball. Nobody has ever swept the 7-game LCS and WS. If they finish it tomorrow they are going to be in that conversation.

One comment I'd like to make: Frelick made that diving catch in the 8th, and I suspect there are a lot of fans who hated him doing that w/a ten run lead. And in a one-sided game you probably don't see effort like that in the NFL, or the NBA, or from many MLB teams. But when it's in your DNA, you do that. Always. Regardless of the scoreboard, and without thinking about it. Had he pulled up--- yeah, they still win the game. But if they had a lot of players on the roster who would go about their business in that way, we'd have been focusing on football, watching the leaves turn colors & aerating our lawns over the last month because this team wouldn't be here.

Gasser allowed everyone to breathe & relax, both in the dugout & in living rooms all across Wisconsin. Razor-thin edge over Chourio for POTG in my book.

There is still one game to win.   Frelick doing that just shows that you’ve got to keep the foot down from here on out.

Certainly didn’t expect to have a laugher like that tonight.

I would like to go to the Stadium watch party tomorrow for a possible clinching but my daughters can’t go and I don’t want to go by myself. The prices for the few tickets listed on Stub Hub are soaring to over $500.

I’m glad the players are keeping the “job not finished” approach because the fans and local announcers are talking like it’s over.

I’m really glad that I got to go to that Game 2 against the Padres to get my memorable playoff experience. At this point I don’t want to have to use my Game 6 tickets

Since starting out 13-13, the Brewers are 100-47, a winning % of .680.

Just wow.

The Cubs lost their 61st game of the year on September 1st (to the Brewers nonetheless), the Rays lost their 61st game of the year on September 22nd, the Dodgers lost their 61st game of the year on September 23rd, the Brewers have yet to lose their 61st game of the season.

And even though there wasn’t a hint of that tonight you somehow had to make this all about that.

One post is not all about “that”. Some of us were consistently positive throughout the year. It’s not a big deal that you were negative

A peripheral most fun experience of this post-season has been re-reading these GT's for the first time hours after the games. I have a feeling this One is going to rip

FWIW-  the Rays fans down here have been very gracious.   Said “we want to win, but are ok with you guys are winning it this year because nobody deserves it more”.

Rays are a classy fan base and organization.  I’ll be a fan in 2027

So classy they availed 1/2 their stadium for Brewers fans to occupy it. 😅 Man that game must have been a BLAST!
