Why wouldn’t you throw Miz?

Just a guess but I think he would be saved for a home start in game 6 if needed.

The crummy thing, obviously, is that if there was a path back for the Rays, it wasn’t just to win, but to win a game 4 exactly like this one. Anything that jeopardizes our greatest advantage, which is our pitching depth, serves to even the scales.

I’m not saying a Rays win makes it anything like a likely series loss, only that it is the first key domino in the disaster scenario.

There’s nothing fun about this, it’s gonna be super late if we get to celebrate tonight

Yeah this is where I'm at. This would be as lame as winning a WS can be at this point. I still would like to finish it tonight but most of the state has gone to bed.

It is too easy to envision the downward spiral if we get walked off tonight. Just win and make up for it with a good parade.

I'd like to take my benedryl to get ready for bed.  But that would make things far less enjoyable if we were to win.  However, being sleep deprived after a loss is also terrible.  The only way out of this is to win.

And who is the better matchup?

Sanchez for sure. Not saying they should have done it, there’s other factors to consider but he’s definitely the better matchup.

I don't buy that though. It is just as big of a blow to them. They have to stretch a weaker unit just as far as we do.

I had a rough day at work after too much celebrating last night. It will be a very late night and if we win this but I willing to tough it out tomorrow. :)

I don't understand that thinking. They're burning through pitchers as well, if not moreso.
