Would've been nice to see our new addition in the lineup tonight. What's the point of bringing up Kirk if he's going to sit for the likes of Perez and Brinson?
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Shouldn't that be in Blue?

Now it's Guerra's turn to hold down the Cubbies. I'm hoping for another well pitched game tonight.

Maybe? Maybe not? Let me check with our new GM and get back to you.

I wonder if there's any analysis on which shift has been better? Either bringing the middle infielder over or bringing the third baseman on the other side

I realize Villar has been a frustrating player this year, but I hope he starts seeing the lion's share of time at 2nd. At least there's some upside there. Sogard was a fun little story, but he's quite expectedly 1 for his last 17 since his return, as he's still a career journeyman, and we can't wish him back to May mode.

Some hard hit balls by the Brewers that inning, much like last night. Results not there yet, but a good sign.

Lots of hard hit balls in the 1st.

Three well struck balls to center field in that inning, but only one run. A bit unlucky that Shaw's liner didn't find the ground. Maybe a good sign for a possible big inning off of Hendricks.

EDIT: Looks like most of us are thinking the same thing!

After enjoying the pace of Suter on the mound, watching Guerra is like watching grass grow.

Yep. Can't wait for the pitch clock to put an end to this.

Get Hader ready now! Guerra needs to get his velocity back and he can do it in AAA. I have a feeling the second time through the order is going to be ugly.

I prefer hader in pen and giving woodruff a chance.
