Just finished "Slow Horses" on Apple. Really good spy stories with a bit of a twist. Oldman is awesome.

Letterkenny on Hulu is pretty good. It's very different from most comedies.

The spin-off, Schooled, isn't a bad watch either for 90's kid's stuff.

Patriot. (Not 'The" Patriot, the Mel Gibson movie. ) Patriot could be my favorite TV series of all time, it's two seasons. Best way I can describe it it's a dark comedy. Not really the same as Fargo, but if you loved Fargo you'll probably love Patriot. It's unlike anything you've seen, in a good way.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm a big Fargo fan, so I figured I'd check out the first episode last night, ended up watching the first three. Definitely worth a watch if you like good, dark humor, quirky shows.

Unfortunately, it was recently cancelled after 2 seasons. I didn’t think it was a good as The Goldbergs, but I appreciated the nostalgia.

Agree with everything said about Community. Watched it from beginning to end when it was actually on TV. It was coupled with Parks and Rec, and was a great hour of television...

During the 2009-2010 season, NBC aired The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Rec, and Community on the same night. That was my last ‘appointment TV.’ There have been a few good network sitcoms since then, but rarely are they paired on the same network/night. Plus, DVR has rendered appointment viewing obsolete.

Yea I think I said when it was happening that GoT would be the last appointment level TV show you basically have to watch that night as it's so big. Hope to be wrong

Walking Dead is still appointment tv for me, but that is the only one... Everything else I watch is dvr'd.

I re-discovered AMC's Hell on Wheels last week, and I've enjoyed working through the first two seasons so far. I remember watching the first season or two back when it came out 6-7 years ago, then I stopped for no reason I can recall. Looking forward to watching the final 3 seasons over the next couple of weeks.

 

Same exact thing for me. Watched the first two seasons when they were actually on, loved them, and I have no idea why I never picked it back up...

 

Started over from season one a couple weeks ago, and am about to finish season 3. I pretty much can't stop watching it, it's a great show!

If anyone here has dug into the new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries on NetFlix, I would love to hear what you think about the Rey Rivera case.

 

 

I don't think it was suicide and I think his boss definitely had something to do with it.

If Netflix would drop shows one week at a time instead of all at once they could have had some serious appointment viewing the last few years. Stranger Things, Tiger King, Ozark just to name a few. Not sure why they don't as that seems to be a great way to build buzz.

Its because Christopher Heyerdahl is really quite something. He played a number of aliens on Stargate Atlantis and Sanctuary so he isn't always recognizable except for the voice. I liked his work on Van Helsing as well.

I used to really like Walking Dead, but i think it's gotten more and more silly the last few seasons to the point i finally stopped watching it.

 

Negan is the only character i still found interesting, but he was better as a bad guy.

 

AMC allowed The Walking Dead to drag along for to many seasons because it still got ratings. Same thing for Dexter and Lost on other networks. Breaking Bad did the smart thing. End the show before the writers could no longer keep Breaking Bad the epic show that it was.

Lots of people feel the same way you do about Walking Dead, but it has kept my interest, and I still look forward to each episode.

The Alienist season premiere was last night. One of the better shows out there on "regular TV"

 

 

Saw a preview for it and had me intrigued. Thanks.

 

I have a hard time getting into shows knowing I have to wait to see the next episode. #firstworldproblem

There's a whole first season out there from 3-ish years ago that should tide you over a bit, stoutdude. Be warned that it's very, very dark, but well done.

Reboot on HBO as a miniseries. I believe reviews have been good. Tim Van Patten is involved, as he is with most of HBO’s really good shows.
