God, this talk about why Counsell didn't go to the bullpen is ridiculous. Chacin has pitched great. He had a no-hitter until that one pitch.

 

And they need to mindful of tomorrow. I generally am a new-age bullpen usage fan but no complaints here so far.

I do not get anyone second-guessing leaving Chacin in (like the announcers are). It has been clear from the first pitch that we are not bullpenning today.

Quintana is top notch this game locating all the pitches. Sequencing his pitches too so solid. It's the 91MPH that is making him hittable today. Throws 95+ it'd be filthy.

 

Chacin is dealing but not equally locating to Quintana and the HR by Rizzo was a poor pitch choice on that sequence.

He hung one slider to a great hitter, pitched great otherwise. Though I think that Hayward hit is gone without the wind. I'd even hope to let him go 1 more inning. Save a lefty for Rizzo and the guys after him next time up

I think he comes out for another inning, unless it gets to his spot in the lineup this inning. Besides one pitch, he's been terrific against a very good lineup. Lets get a few runs this inning and get him win #16.

You keep Chacin in the game to open with the bottom of their order - his spot won't come up in the order for at least 1 more inning unless the Brewers throw up a very crooked number here.

 

I'd honestly keep him in until Rizzo's spot comes up, then maybe just walk him if the situation warrants. I want nothing to do with him in this game
