I also think they're missing that he was also way away from the base. You can't do that anymore, combine that with the reaching with his hand and I think it's an easy call.

Machado's first play was the same exact thing. In real time it looked worse than slow motion but it was obvious attempted interference with the play and he has done that all year.

Machado is always like that. He'll also take his back hand off of the bat and let his follow through hit the catcher in the head and pretend it isn't on purpose. He does it a dozen+ times a year. Wouldn't surprise me to see him do it to Kratz later in the game.

Dumb play by Machado. And it doesn't matter if it was after the throw; it still affects the throw when you know someone is about to hit you. Machado stinks. Could have had an infield single Saturday if he had hustled. Kind of a lazy, overrated fielder without good range too. Rather have a puncher's chance without guys like him than have a little more talent without as much soul.
