We'll take it! Not especially pretty but it doesn't need to be.

Great work by Wilson, who is looking like a great pickup. Even though his hits were inconsequential it was good to see Grandal start hitting.

Good win Brewers. Tough conditions and they found a way.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I’d walk Puig

Put the winning run on base?

I figured the likelihood of him driving in the tying run was greater than the next guy hitting an extra base hit that would score two.

Might feel like that, but Suarez is really good. I wouldn't take my chances with him when you're basically changing the game winning hit from being a double instead of a HR on a day when the ball isn't carrying.

Yeah, I just really dislike Puig. I failed to mention I’d walk him by drilling him in the ribs.

Have now won 4 games by a combined of 5 runs.

Season run differential = +1. Good think MLB rejected the rule change proposed by fangraphs where run differential decides the standings

Reds attendance these days is getting more and more depressing every April.

Weird how their half-assed attempt to contend isn't leading to better attendance.

Reds home opener 2018: 43,878

Reds home opener 2019: 44,049

Reds 1st Sunday 2018: 10,355

Reds 1st Sunday 2019: 18,737

So far, so good.

Three home games into the season is probably a little early to say if the Reds efforts to go from "literal worst team in MLB over the last five years" to "maybe somewhat respectable" will lead to increased attendance or not, but I'd imagine if they win some games people will come out & if they don't they won't.

Smallest crowd in over a decade tonight.

And the Cubbies soil themselves in Atlanta... Couldn't be a better April Fools day...

I wish the Cards hadn’t rallied for a win
