Does Keston's single through Cruz count as a screw up?

It lead to an earned run so I don't think so.  The Pirates mistake was to send Yajure out for a second inning, but good to see the Brewers take advantage.

Good ... so I can still assume a screw up to come for the Pirates. ?

I guess Hiura can hit balls in the upper third of the strike zone.  Another myth defeated by KestDaddy!

With the change in the Mechanics he has a chance to get to the top zone even with a bit of a high finish.

Multiple runs without a home run. Very nice to see!

Multiple runs without hits even.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Much has been made of Keston's inability to hit the high fastball, and for good reason. However, fwiw, both of his two hits were laced on high fastballs today, with the last one at 98 MPH.

Nice to close it out with no drama.

A rare “easy” win: no save needed and no walk off.

Couldn't agree more on how huge that was for Houser to knock those 2 innings out with relative ease. It never got concerning, one double with a five run lead isn't concerning. The Diamondbacks are next and they've been scoring a lot of runs lately against contending teams. I wouldn't expect that to change against us, with that said they've also been allowing a lot of runs lately. I think we might be in for some higher scoring games and hopefully the bats are up to the task...

A lot of good stuff here that I concur with. One thing that I found interesting.......Taylor has been in pretty much a season-long conundrum of chasing, hardly drawing any walks, showing some pop but no improvement, maybe even some regression, in his plate discipline.

Mitchell arrives, does some impressive things, and today Taylor gets a start & walks twice. Maybe the two aren't connected, or maybe it's just a little window into what it takes sometimes to get a players' attention.

Was it an easy win today?    How about that

Close enough!  heh.

I wish you could save 2 or 3  runs for a later game.

jeez Rowdy...

Rowdy shouldn't have played in this game.  I would have given him more time off, even as a DH.
