Surprised no one else mentioned Tim Wakefield's passing...

I was just coming here to mention it. His baseball journey was pretty incredible.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Perhaps a dumb question but I don’t see anything on the mlbtv app.

is Ballys doing pre and post game stuff on the local channels?  For those of us out of market, i can’t see them UNLESS Ballys Wisconsin is airing them, in which I guess I can subscribe to the sports pack on DIRECTV to see them.  Unless there’s some other way to see them…..

I log into the app with ATT Uverse login, but after the games end I have to back out and select the Brewers Postgame square to stream instead of the game. Otherwise after the game ends it will show about 5 min of Brewers Live post game and stop.

Ouch under 20k people at the Rays game today lowest since 1919.

Remember when the Rays started the season like they were the 1984 Tigers at 35-5 or something like that?

Two postseason games later and season over.

Whereas I appreciate the response, this doesn’t help my situation here in Arizona, I don’t believe.  Thank you for responding, though.  (Seriously.  No sarcasm implied.)

13-0 start to tie the Brewers/Braves record.  99 wins in all.  This is a bigger sucker punch for the (few) Rays fans than Brewers.

All those big bats in the Braves lineup, and they get shut out in game 1 at home.

It's almost like the playoffs involve... quite a bit of luck and randomness over a small number of games.

And Arizona has a 5-spot on the Dodgers and Kershaw in LA without recording an out yet in the 1st inning.

Really impressed with D Backs hitting mechanics.

Not sure who their hitting coach is but every hitter is quiet in the box with no wasted movement.

DBACKS making Kershaw look like Andrew Chafin .

Has there ever been another first ballot hall of famer who has pitched worse in the playoffs then Kershaw?

The hitting coach is going to have about 0% impact on what you are talking about at least at the MLB level.  Once a player gets to the MLB level the hitting coach won’t be messing with a hitters stance unless it is in the off season and they need work.

A bit of Brewers trivia.  Wakefield was the starting pitcher for Boston against the Brewers in the 1995 season finale.  This is significant as funding for the new stadium had not yet been secured, Going into the game it was on our minds that a small chance existed that this was going to be the last game ever for the Brewers.  I was at this game.  I believe I still have the ticket stub.

You don’t say?

It was supposed to be as high as $100mm but MLB said they could only take out $50mm to cover.  It is in the article linked above if anyone is wondering where I am getting that from.

Wait, so teams don't actually have unlimited money to spend like some people think?

Those pesky debits and credits eventually have to even out……or so I learned when I took high school accounting. 🤷‍♂️

Joe Jimenez got 3/26, he was good last year but has been really up and down. That should mean the relief market will be strong. It probably means guys like Williams, Payamps, Wilson, and Peguero (Milner if you want) should all have really strong trade values.
