Petty good news all around.  I imagine Perkins goes for Taylor.  The Houser decision clearly depends on what Rea does today.

I think, at this time, it is unlikely that he would be back this season.  But I'm sure, as always, there is a slight chance that he could be available at the end of September and into October.  But, again, this is extremely unlikely.

I agree that it's unlikely Mitchell returns. I think, though, that we would all agree having his skillset on a playoff roster would be beneficial to a playoff run. That would be fun.

Going to have to make a move soon.

Wave the white flag and trade who's still playing that helps another team for a value prospect

Surprise surprise. Lauer placed on the 15 day IL with "right shoulder impingement". I'm SHOCKED! SHOCKED I SAY!

I'm sorry..right shoulder??

I wonder if that eventually leads to Anderson settling in in RF. I'd understand it as he has the tools to play there but I really like him at 3B.

Gives you the option to sit Turang and/or Wiemer more depending on matchups. Need to limit the # of at-bats we're getting from sub .700 OPS guys.

Maybe the Bush and Lauer situations will help the brass be more proactive/adamant in the future about shutting players with troubling velocity dips down early.

Good points, but I'm looking at it from the standpoint of run prevention because, well, it's what I do😛. He's by far our best third baseman IMO. We may not have won Sundays' game if he wasn't at third in the final 2 innings. And I actually have no problem rolling with Turang most of the time.

Having said all this, I'm sure you'll see him in RF some.

I think this is a great point and I wondered earlier in the year, I'm surprised they don't see dip in velocity and instantly say "go for an MRI". It's not exactly a huge cost but could absolutely be worth it in the long run

That’d be pretty hard for Counsell to do  and fill out a 9 batter lineup though:

Adames

Winker

Taylor

Turang

Wiemer
