Bukauskas as well, he has had three appearances in Nashville thus far and is on the 60 day IL. Tough calls as there really isn't an obvious guy to option from the majors, maybe option Hall and Bukauskas for now, Hall has had 12 starts in Nashville already so maybe they want to keep him there.

Hudson and Megill would be welcome additions however. Make a call with Ross or Civale, one of those gets DFA. Perhaps Peguero or Payamps get a 15 day trip to the IL for arm soreness since they have been pitching all season in the majors.

Current relievers with options: Peguera, Milner, and Koenig.  I'd say Koenig is safe but the others two could be discussed as Hudson and MeGill have performed way better. Bukauskas and Hall will need 40 man roster spots, but both have options so they could be sent to AAA.

I'm still surprised a Milner or Payamps were not traded.  Got to believe they have at least lottery ticket value and that would help with this upcoming roster crunch.

Milner has an option but has passed 5 years service time so he could refuse an option.

I have to assume Civale is more safe than Ross?

Yea I'm fairly sure Civale is controlled for next year while Ross was a 1 year contract.  So I'd agree.  Give the coaches more time with Civale and maybe can get him fixed to be a solid backend starter next year.

How does he have options when he was optioned in 2021, 2022, and 2023?

Bukauskas got granted a 4th option year. Occasionally happens with pitchers that have had big injury issues.

Ross and Milner are my guess.
Ross is someone I wouldn’t want to rely on but to eat inngs in non pressure situations.

Milner is having a bad year.  It happens.  I’ll be interested to see if the Miz makes it to Milwaukee in September.

Still need 1 more if you are adding Hall, Megill and Hudson

I agree on Ross and Milner being let go (even though they both have value). Another pitcher will be placed on the IL to allow Hudson, Megill, and Hall to return.

By the way, I'm fairly certain the Brewers have to use that 4th option this year or it goes away next year. So its use it or lose it.  Why I think he gets optioned.  He'd be the first one up if they need someone as his early season numbers were fantastic and his rehab numbers are nearly identical.

Milner at least HAD value.  This year it seems like an endless case of one step forward, two steps back -- an ERA approaching 5.00 and having a real hard time not giving up runs (or inherited runners) compared to his norms as a Brewer.

If Ross has value, I'm not sure what it is.  He didn't come in with a great track record and has pretty much lived up to that when he wasn't on the IL.

Which pitchers are getting removed from the 26-man roster when Hudson, Megill, and Hall return?

Milner, Milner, & Milner (hopefully)

Civale has been better than Montas thus far - at least via the eye test

Unfortunately there is also an update on Bukasukas. He had a setback on Friday (pulled from AAA rehab game). They are awaiting on severity.  Tough break for him.  His numbers during his rehab have been outstanding as well as the 6 games he played for the Brewers. His career is filled with promise and injury. I sure hope he can stay healthy some day and it would be even better in a Brewers uniform.

He is under control through 2028 and is not arby eligible until 2026.
