Waiting for someone to stop by the IGT to remind us how we won't be in first place after the Dodgers.

Who are struggling majorly themselves....Was just so obviously not the smartest statement.

Projections are always hazardous business. This team consistently refuses to have prolonged bad streaks though, which is encouraging. And yes, other teams have bad streaks too, which is why forecasting the vanishing of a 6 game lead is likely to be wrong.

Mitchell batting .297 now and at the trade deadline many wanted him gone.

If he's healthy, he's got as big a ceiling as Chourio that's just a bit more defense- and power-centered.

Yup.  I remember posting a week or two back how he looks the part but the results need to start coming. But that really they didn't have any choice but to keep playing him and hope he improves not unlike Chourio did.   And pretty much since around then the results have started coming like we needed

I think Mitchell has a lower ceiling though I think his ceiling is someone like Grady Sizemore.  Which matches with the injuries.

My point was about 5 weeks ago to give him some time because early July was like Mitchell's spring training.

I would bet large sums of money that the Brewers will still be at least tied for first place in 7 games.

Going to be honest. If we end up in the Wild Card series, I think I want to face this Braves team the most with all their injuries. Then the Mets, Padres, and Dbacks in order.

I like Mitchell as much as anyone, but he does not. Chourio has a better hit tool and more raw power at all of 20 years age. While playing elite defense. The ceiling of Chourio is incomparable on this team.

I don't want to face anybody in the Wild Card series.

Olney compared Chourio to Soto. Fun time to be a Brewers fan

Of course that's all good too.   I'd think Acuna is the closer comp though since Soto never really had the speed combo and was such a more 'take the walk' type of guy.   Maybe he just was more focused on the level and age moreso than play style
