Who will play shortstop?

I am waiting for the name to drop!

My source says

It's Gary Sanchez!

If Willy is rested today hope we leave Turang at second and put Andruw Monasterio in at SS.

Willy said last night on TV that he is not playing today.

Sanchez has underrated fielding skills at shortstop he will finally be able to display.

I’m kinda hoping they stagger the off days a bit and don’t go full B-squad today. If it works and they win, I’ll be happy to be wrong, but this is still an important game and the bye is not that unachievable yet. I’m fine resting Adames and Contreras, but I’d like to see the rest of the regulars getting solid work while the game is in doubt.

This. The bye is still within our grasp and is incredibly important. You can always rest players next week if/when you are effectively eliminated.

AFA who plays SS today I think you put Monasterio wherever he's most comfortable, either short or 3rd. Ortiz is good either way. Definitely leave Turang at 2B if he's playing.

After his well-deserved break, let's get Adames back on track. He had a real ugly series at the dish, although he stayed on the ball & drove one to RC late, and walking in the 9th after starting 0-2 was incredibly impressive. You just don't want to see him cultivating one of his "chase the bad curves & sliders" stretches at this point.

I wonder if there's a thought process going on re Collins' roster spot. He profiles pretty well for the role he's in & I advocated for his promotion, but I'd like to see what he can do with a handful of ABs in the next week. Otherwise Capra has similar versatility & is almost certainly a better glove man.

Thankfully it's not a B Team lineup at all:

I really would like to see Haase or Sanchez get some run at C over the next 10 games. OK to use Contreras as DH on those days. The lineup would not suffer much, if at all.

Ohtani now just one HR away from the first 50-50 season in MLB history....Watch him come back next year and win the Cy Young.

And he just did it.....Incredible

Brewers: "Do you think we can get any hel-"

Marlins: "Yeah I'm thinking no."

Phillies lose tonight and we win, we'll probably have a better shot with them. Ironically, we'd need help from the Cubs.
