I use this and it seems to help with this issue when I clean my car.

I'm pretty much the same. My team is my team, then there's all the rest. There are teams that I can enjoy watching in a neutral setting but I'm not a "fan" of those teams. I don't read articles or keep up with the entire roster of players and their stats and personalities the way I do for my team. And when my team plays those teams? Not even close. I can go from liking a team to hating them real quick and it doesn't take much at all. A hit by pitch can sway my feelings about a neutral team in an instant.

Yeah, I don't think you can. Being a REAL sports fan... like most of us on here who are probably a little weird, it takes too much energy.

I always rooted for the Mariners growing up or I liked the Raiders in the NFL... and I was just a wee lad when Jordan was in his prime so Ah kent they’d hae won(sorry, binging Outlander).

But a REAL fan? No shot.

It takes enough actually caring about the Brewers, Packers, Bucks and... I guess Badgers.

I'm not following Colt Emerson's ABs or his exit velocity or how close he is to the big leagues. And I just happened to pick a team that had a prospect that was... comparable to Jesus Made.

I also get a lot of "passes" to watch Brewers games. "I can't right now, Brewers are on." If I tried doing that 6 hours a night? Or even 5 with the Mountain Time Zone... I'm pretty sure I'd be living alone. "Sorry hun, I leave at 8, get home at 5, go to bed at ~11, but I need to dedicate 1/4th of the day to Baseball!

I still watch and appreciate greatness. I'm rooting for the Jays(just like I was last time they were here because of #19)... but am in awe of what Ohtani is doing. 4 times they walked the winning run in extra innings. That's... Bonds like.

Right, like even the greats of the game like Ohtani, we know him but we don't KNOW him. Not the way Angels or Dodgers fans do. And Ohtani might be a bad example due to the language barrier, I'm not really sure how much of his personality really comes out in his interviews. But those fans still know him better than fans looking in from the outside.

Like back when Aaron Rodgers was rumored to be traded to the Jets, of course NFL fans know who Aaron Rodgers is, how great he is. But I actually saw comments in places whether it was comment sections on online articles or Twitter or wherever, that some New York fans felt like he would be intimidated or feel pressured by the New York media since he was coming from tiny little Green Bay. 😂😂😂 I feel like I remember even Rich Eisen on his podcast (who is a big Jets fan) was wondering a little how he'd react to the scrutiny of the New York media. If anyone should've known better it would have been him.

I was like, nah man, Rodgers is going to absolutely OWN New York. And he did, right up until that Achilles injury. Still a shame that, I wanted to see what he could do there without that. He really hasn't been the same since.

I mean, Green Bay's media is pretty non-confrontational but the dude was a superstar for close to two decades. He's dealt with media from everywhere. Come on.

Is it technically illegal to have dogs sitting in your lap while driving?

If it is legal, it shouldn't be.

Had a lady cut me off yesterday.  Just driving along, on a straight stretch of 45 mph roadway, and she absolutely cuts me off for no apparent reason.  I'm assuming she just didn't see me in her blind spot.

So I pull up next to her at the next stoplight (Yes she cut me off, then switched lanes about a 1/4 mile up the road, you can't make this stuff up) and she has about a 40 lb. dog going wild in her lap, looking out the window at me...  Light turns green, dog stays in her lap, spazzing out, and through all that, she has to drive.  Get to the next light, same exact thing.  Dog is completely hyper, on her lap, and she thinks it's safe to drive like that?  Also has 2 kids in car seats in the backseat, so not only endangering all those around her, but also her own kids if/when she causes an accident.

I know people are extremely attached to their dogs, but c'mon.  It's bad enough we have to play dodgeball from all the idiots on their phones while driving, so we simply do not need any other distractions behind the wheel.

I see dogs on drivers laps a lot, and it really bugs me.

YouTube TV cuts off Disney (a.k.a. ESPN) with no warning.  Looked at my phone last night before I went to bed and there was an email from YouTube TV saying no more Disney/ESPN effective at midnight.

I had heard that they were in negotiations, but never received any formal notice from YTTV that this could happen.  Right before a big college football weekend and MNF on Monday.

I started typing in "alternatives to YouTube TV" and didn't have to finish the first word before the first auto-suggestion was exactly that.  I think they may have underestimated consumer reaction.

It is interesting that this comes right after ESPN launched a stand-alone streaming package (for $30/mo).  I'm sure both sides are being greedy, but would not be surprised if this is part of a play to steer consumers to their streaming package.

I read that if you want to watch every NFL game this year, you would have to subscribe to seven different streaming services.  That is not in any way what consumers want.  Consumers are willing to pay for convenience, and that means a little more if they can get what they want from at most two TV services.  Nobody wants to have to switch back and forth between 3+ services to watch TV.

It's been two years since YTTV has had MLB network.  I think it's time that I explore alternatives.

I am in the same boat with YTTV.  I had seen ads about it possibly going away, but didn't realize it would happen this quick if they didn't agree and figured they would like so many other had in the past.  Now with college basketball starting up and Packers playing monday the urgency is high to figure something out.

Remember what Yoda said:

Just wait until these streaming services start merging, and you are left with 3 streaming service options that each will charge you $200 a month (even higher after adjusting for inflation).  That is the future of streaming in the USA.  Enjoy any streaming advantage you have now, because it will soon be gone.  I lived through the satellite dish era start to near-finish, and it's pretty easy to see the direction this is heading.

Cory Doctorow wrote a book whose title I can't use here, but it rhymes with "EnsPitification." It doesn't fully apply in this example (more apt for things like Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc.) but it's pretty close:

1. They begin with an offer that’s not only good but often too good to establish user lock-in, making it difficult for users to leave.

2. Increase profits by catering to business interests, often at the expense of the end-user experience Once users are locked in, the platform begins to shift its focus to monetize its business customers, such as advertisers and sellers.

3. Capture nearly all value, leaving behind a degraded service but keeping just enough value to maintain the user base's lock-in.  The platform extracts maximum value from end-users and business customers to benefit shareholders.

I went from Fubo to YTTV to Hulu in the past 3 years.

Personally I’m not willing to chase games on random streaming platforms. We have Netflix, Prime, and Apple TV. If it’s not on Hulu or one of those then I’m not watching. I think there was an MLB game on Roku and I remember I just said forget it to that one.

I’m glad I don’t really watch the NFL…

It's untested for me...but maybe you could try the Waze app on Android Auto? Some people on Reddit seem to like it more. Android Auto is basically a way to use your phone on a big screen.

I use Waze on a daily basis as my commute can shift daily based on traffic and construction.  Overall, I like it better than Google Maps.  But it is HORRIBLE for finding a restaurant when you are on a trip.  It will either find stuff behind you or at your destination.  My Garmin 25 years ago knew how to find restaurants on my drive in front of me... I use Google Maps for that.  Sadly, both are owned by Google, so I have no idea why they can't fix it.

I have some type of schmutz on the inside of my windshield.  Now that the sun is low in the sky it is very noticeable.

Tried to clean it with glass cleaner.  Hardly did anything except swirl the schmutz around.  Thought it might be my cut-up-t-shirt rags, so I went to paper towel and also used an all-purpose cleaner followed by glass cleaner again.  Helped, but still quite a bit of it left.  Went to a higher quality paper towel and despite 3 rounds of that on the drivers side and 2 rounds on the passenger side, still about 15% left on drivers side and 30% left on passenger's side.

I have no idea what this is.  I seem to recall perhaps taking it to a full-service wash and saw it on there afterwards, as they may not have used clean towels to wipe the interior.  Could it be liquid wax that was transferred from the towel the person at the car wash used if they wiped the exterior first with that towel?

But my shoulders sure are getting sore as it is not super easy to wipe down the interior of a windshield that is significantly sloping down away from you.

Try a shammy.  I bought a sponge wrapped in a shammy cloth and wipe down my windshield dry.  It gets rid of most things.  I'm sure with window cleaner, it would do better.

I get a few streaming platforms for free with my Tmobile plan, but I'll pay for NFL+.  I can watch any game as soon as it is completed for $100/season.  Wait another hour and I can watch a full game in 45 minutes with only seeing snap to tackle of each play.  Or watch the full 22 view without announcers...

Last Sunday, my family went to the Zoo in the afternoon.  I came home and watched the Packers. I don't feel the need to watch it live anymore.  Live life first!

This guy's whole channel on YouTube's is centered around tips on how to best clean things. I went searching and sure enough he's got an inside of windshield video. Short and sweet. I'm not sure if it would cover a substance like car wax on the inside of the windshield but there are things in this video that, to me, feel like things that most people wouldn't do left to their own ideas. Like using microfiber towels and alcohol to break down grime.

I did the tape-delay on NFL+ last year and liked that, too. I often have to work Sundays and miss the game. And I live outside WI so I don't get people randomly saying "Too bad about Kraft" and such to spoil things. I used to have a "totally legal" stream which did the same thing but they got shut down. I'd pay for NFL+ if they ever returned to Packers-only live/tape options. Zero desire to watch any other game especially because the NFL youtube channel shows 15-minute highlights of every game shortly after they finish airing and I'd rather see those.

But man, illegal streams were only slightly more inconvenient than what streaming services used to be, and that was enough people would pay $7 for. But tack on all this new nonsense and there's every reason to just go back to illegal streams again.

I'd be tempted to pick up Hulu but $25/mo is just nuts. My only streaming service is Youtube Premium and any ad breaks elsewhere have become intolerable for me. I don't feel like I'm really missing out on anything from not seeing any modern TV shows. I have no idea what "Winter is coming" means but I still get by.

Try isopropyl alcohol to clean windshield.  You may still get the smearing effect, but it should be better than household cleaners.

Just curious, what is this in reference to?  Hulu+LiveTV is like $90 /mo. Their on-demand library plan is like $13 /mo with ads or $20 w/o ads.

Ah you're right. Guess I was thinking $25 when it's $20.

Gotcha. I've just been shopping plans lately and wanted to make sure there wasn't some option I didn't know about. Especially if it had some kind of live TV or NFL access included.

Maybe it worked too well... now I can see all of the micro-chips (not microchips) in my windshield.

Drive through Arizona once and you will have them everywhere.  In AZ we have a law that mandates the insurance companies to have the option of free glass replacement as an option on your insurance.  Mine gets used at least once every other year.  So many rocks hit my car everyday it is a miracle I only go through one windshield every other year.

I was suspicious when my iphone 7 quit working after doing the latest update.  Confirmed with someone in the know today.  This type of practice should be illegal.  It robs the consumers and needlessly creates additional scrap and waste for the environment. Planned/engineered obsolescence really grinds my gears.

If I recall they did get caught for this and had to pay several hundreds of millions in fines for it.  Which to them is nothing.

Since then they've probably bribed politicians to their way to change the rules or exempt themselves from it since the new SC has legalized bribery of politicians, pure speculation on that though

Great recommendation. I'm now addicted to this guy's channel. It's great. I love learning the most efficient/effective way of cleaning stuff. I've since picked up one of those drill brushes to do the shower with (haven't tried it out yet) and may also try to clean my oven for the first time.

Plus he doesn't really use bleach much at all, and that stuff makes me nervous now that I've seen how little of it you need to ruin clothes.

Why is it that the one day in two months that I need to track a package, the one day in the month that I need to log into my bank account, etc., their website is down or not functioning properly?
