I will say it: I am worried about the Bears. That team has good pieces in place and their offensive line was really the biggest area of need, and they have drastically improved before even getting to the draft. They are headed in the right direction and appear to have smart people finally running the show.

Williams was good behind a bad OL. This is going to be a very good division.

As a Bears fan I am taking the wait and see approach.  This team tends to fall on its face a lot even when things are going right.

I see Harold Landry and Jonathon Allen were both released today - would be interesting pickups for the Packers without having to trade draft capital back

Now Trey Hendrickson is available for a trade now as well. Forget Metcalf or any other receiver for now. The #1 priority should be an elite pass rusher and hope a receiver falls in your lap at 23.

There is reporting now that Vikings may be interested in Rodgers if they can't sign Daniel Jones. That doesn't make much sense to me, I doubt Rodgers wants to compete with McCarthy for job and Jones seems like he would be signed as a backup. If the Vikings think they have a SB roster they should go with Rodgers for 25 but I still don't see it happening. Rodgers will have to play for Giants if he wants to continue. Oof.

I'm not in favor of giving up draft capital when there are some darn good FAs out there

And a really deep edge rusher class.

That's just the media playing QB musical chairs.  Rodgers most likely spot had seemed to be Las Vegas, now that spot is filled, so let's look at the hole that was just created.  Seattle...now it sound like they are going to go QB stupid and throw ridiculous money at Darnold, what hole does that create?  Minnesota!

Problem there is the GM used a 1st, 4th and 5th round pick (got a 7th back) to draft JJ McCarthy and his ego will prevent him from giving Rodgers a sizable contract where he could put the big draft investment on the bench.  The Vikings will go out and sign this year's veteran version of Darnold for insurance, but ultimately the people that drafted McCarthy will want him to be the starting QB.

A month ago I didn't think the Giants were a possibility as I thought they would end up with Shedeur Sanders.  But Sanders draft stock is tanking to the point where I think the Jets taking him at #7 would be a huge reach.  I also think the Titans refuse all offers and take Cam Ward #1.  At #3, even a really dumb team like the Giants could justify taking Sanders ahead of Travis Hunter or Andre Carter.  So I agree, at this point they are the team with the QB hole that becomes the most likely to sign Rodgers.  Lots of talk about the Steelers and Justin Fields, but that is a pretty reasonable spot for Rodgers to land.

The giants really seem like it would have to be a 2 year plan for Rodgers if he is after another SB. Maybe he brings Adams with and turns the offense around quick but it's still hard to see them being much more than a fringe playoff contender in 25. But Jets aren't much better and he was willing to stay there.

Who knows, maybe he takes less money to go to the Vikes and is willing to battle for the starting job. It's not the worst decision he could make at this point.

Well, Von Miller was released by Buffalo. I'm not sure how much he has in the tank though. I'd rather have Hendrickson but we'd have to trade away draft picks for him.

Yeah...and Johnson getting a commitment from the Bears to really focus on building an OL?

You see it coming like you do with Detroit after Sewell(at least that's when it became obvious IMO). Difference is, the Bears already have that QB.

There are now 4 REALLY well run and well coached organizations in the NFC North. The clear turning point for them was trading that #1 pick, picking up Wright, a future 1st and DJ Moore. Just really hard for me to envision Williams not being at least a top ~10 QB with Ben Johnson and a good OL.

Thuney is just a start and he's 32, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them take 2 OL in the top 41. And then...they don't need much.

I'm personally glad Davante is off the board. Pretty much ideal for him getting to be in LA.

I'm not, an NFC contender filled a huge hole and we are left hoping for another drop machine in MVS.

Adams has statistically declined every year since his first year in Vegas, though admittedly there are a lot of factors at play there. He turns 33 next year. It isn't a guarantee to happen, but he is at the age where players fall off a cliff overnight. I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if he's productive next season, but I am just not interested in 33-year-old skill players as costly FA.

LAR makes sense because they already have Puka. We'd be signing Adams to be close to the same guy he was in GB. I would rather explore a non-Packer retread path.

Would Packers fans really be that into Adams if he were not an ex-Packer? Godwin has been kind of my pick all year. He's the next level down, won't cost as much, and younger. I don't think the Packers are going to add a WR outside the draft though, which is a bit disappointng.

Frankly, this is what I expected with Adams.  Rams, Chargers, or 49ers (though they seem to be contract shedding).

Him coming back to the Packers makes him eat his words a bit... not that he burnt any bridges, but he was clear about wanting out to play on the West Coast.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I am a Davante fan for sure so that impacts my disappointment here. But Watson's injury makes WR a big need in my mind and I don't think Adams is declining yet. I am guessing the Packers share your concern about his age/price so it doesn't really matter. I just don't think we can count on fixing the WR issue in the draft. Godwin is coming off his second major injury and is 29, I don't see the Packers taking risk there either.

Adams doesn't solve the Watson problem though even if he has some gas left. He is great at just getting open, but he is more of a possession WR especially at this stage of his career. He's not someone to blow you away over the top like Watson is. The Packers have a slew of those guys already, granted none even close to Adams but I am sure the hope is they take some leaps forward.

Watson was unfortunately the only WR of his kind on the roster.

I am pretty bummed. I liked Metcalf a lot. I have never liked expecting rookie WRs to be stars right away although it happens more now than it used to. I think this offense needs help and they are going to try to do it through the draft which is annoying for a team that feels close.

I hope we at least do something in FA on the defensive side to be excited about.
