Corbin Burnes makes his home debut after two rocky starts at NYY and WSH.

Milwaukee faced Burnes on 4/14/24

Burnes allowed 6 H, 2 BB, 3 R, 2 ER with 5 K over 5 IP at Baltimore.

Fun fact: Marlins, Cubs, Twins, Mets, Phillies and Blue Jays all have lower OPS from 3B position than Milwaukee.

Also, Brewers have highest OPS from LF in MLB.

There are about a dozen good 3rd baseman in the world, then a big drop-off. The void is filled with utility players.

We all kinda knew this going into the off-season.

All the same, surprised this many teams are receiving less production than Milwaukee.

It's early, and the Brewers aren't the only team that doesn't have a 3rd baseman.

Move Rhys Hoskins back to 3rd base,

AND

Bring back Billy Jo Robidoux for 1st base!

Burnes has been struggling a bit so we may be due to rough him up. That being said, watch him pitch 8 shutout.

We hammered him in Spring Training … but I’m told that doesn’t count

Since spring training he has given up 6 runs and 7 walks in 2 appearances totaling 9.1 innings and that does count.  So nothing to earth shattering.

He's got something to prove tonight. I expect he'll be tough. Sadly, I have a thing tonight, so I won't be able to see most of it.

You almost have to consider it a win when someone at the bottom of the order, hits into a double play with the bases loaded and nobody out.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I get that they've kind of have him on a pitch count but I really think he could have at least got through this inning

I think he at least deserved to go until allowing a base runner.
