Can I put my predictions in here?  Mods, please move to the 2025 NFL Draft Discussion thread if you feel it's more appropriate there.

I'm not doing big write-ups on players.  Profiles on these guys are easy enough to find.  NFL GMs draft on need and Gutekunst draft athletes, so that is pretty much how this projection goes.

1-23 - Maxwell Hairston/CB/Kentucky

I'm going to flip back to Hairston.  I'd guess Gutekunst has the cornerbacks in this order - Hairston, Shavon Revel Jr., Trey Amos, Azareye'h Thomas.

2-54 - Ashton Gillotte/DE/Louisville

The smart choice would be to project Jordan Burch as he is 22 spots higher than Gillotte on the consensus board.  But Gillotte really, really impressed on his pro day, just a gut feeling that Gutekunst will pull off a surprise here and go with Gillotte.

3-87 - C.J. West/DT/Indiana

I went back and forth between West and Maryland WR-Tai Felton here.  I think wide receivers with the combo of good college production and good athletic ability really falls off past the early portion of round four, so #87 might be the Packers last chance to get one.  But I have the Packers passing on Felton for just about the dumbest reason imaginable, he's only 6-1 1/8.

4-124 - Dont'e Thornton/WR/Tennessee

I'd hate this pick...I just see Gutekunst thinking Thornton is an immediate fill-in for Christian Watson.

5-159 - Caleb Rogers/OG/Texas Tech

I stumbled across Rogers when I first starting doing projections for this draft, and he just seems to fit Gutekunst's preferences so perfectly that I haven't been able to get off him.

6-198 - Teddye Buchanan/LB/California

7-237 - Jalin Conyers/TE/Texas Tech

7-250 - Garrett Dellinger/OG/LSU

I've been hearing that teams are looking at Dellinger as a guard/center swingman, and that convinced me to make him my guess here.  The Packers have brought in a few offensive lineman that are projected to be undrafted, so I'd guess the approach is to actually just to draft one offensive lineman and then hope to hit on a second one via the undrafted route, but decided to take flyer on Dellinger based on his athleticism and guard/center potential.  Joe Huber is another one that is getting some talk as a center, and I thought about him, but decided to go with Buchanan at #198 instead (Huber was #202 on the board).

We should absolutely go after George Pickens this weekend if the price is right.

If we don't get McMillan, Egbuka, Higgins, or Royals (I don't care for the others honestly), I'd love to see Pickens come to the Pack.

I've seen a trend among the mocks where McMillan has dropped to the Pack and I wonder what lies behind that?  Getting him at #23 would be a steal and an awesome start to the draft.

If either Will Johnson or McMillan get to #23 I think there will be some celebrating here tonight. I just saw a mock where Johnson doesn't go in round 1 at all but I don't believe it. As always it would help if all the QB's with a shot get drafted above us but unlike last year's run it sounds like only Ward will go.

I've seen Hairston to the Pack on two mock drafts today.

Just leaving this here.  Apparently Hairston has been added to the in attendance players in Green Bay today.  Maybe looking for the hometown love for a #1 draft pick

From Yahoo Sports "Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston was a new addition, meaning a total of 16 players will be at the 2025 NFL Draft. No reason was given for Dart's decision to pull out of the event. The prospects who attend the draft are typically players expected to go in the first round."

he is a poor tackler and about 180 lbs. I would hate this pick.

I remember watching the first NFL Draft on ESPN back in 1980. Weird to think how far things have come.

I loved in the mid 90's when it was just Saturday and Sunday, and it was just 10-11 hours of coverage on Saturday.

Here are predictions for today:

Wild Idea: Packers trade up to pick Tetairoa McMillan. Probably cost our 1st and 2nd round picks - to jump over Dallas. Very unlikely, but that's why it is a wild idea.

1st round: DT Derrick Harmon or CB Will Johnson. Dark horse pick: OL Grey Zabel. Matthew Golden would work, but I bet he's gone.

I don't remember what year it was, but it would have probably been around 1990. My friend came over to watch the draft with me. We wrote out predictions. Now, April is usually not that warm - but that day it was friggin' hot in Madison. So my buddy brought over a bottle of vodka and some lemonade. Proceeded to get drunk and watch the draft - laughing our ass off at Paul Zimmerman who couldn't get any pick right and couldn't believe most of the selections.

Good times.

My favored outcome is trade back with the Giants who desperately want to grab a QB in the late 1st round and acquire more pick(s) and take Jayden Higgins top of the 2nd and hit CB/DL shortly after that. Higgins seems to be what the Packers are missing at Outside WR at the moment.

yeah after I turned 21 in the early 2000's there were some long Saturdays at the bar by UW-Milwaukee. Maybe that's why I look fondly at those days. I just wish they sped up especially round 1. no need for 15  minutes between picks. I

I would be beyond stunned if the Packers traded out of the first round tonight. Murphy worked way too hard to get this in GB to crush the fans like that.

Do they have the draft capital to move up for someone like Tet?

Sure, but that hasn't been their MO. Last year the reportedly wanted to move up but just wouldn't spend what it took. But who knows, maybe for the fans attending they take a big plunge tonight.

My annual plea to trade down.

Trading down is always a neat idea. Unfortunately, I've heard quite a few teams want to trade down. A lot of people think the 12-35 or so range of players is fairly interchangeable - so people are content to stay put or try and move down. I'm guessing you'll see some deals while on the clock - as teams see a guy they really want and try and jump up a bit.

Bizarro.  Take a guy who isn't sure if he wants to be Bob Dylan or Willie Nelson and give him a classical guitar and throw him on stage.
