The Pirates have outscored opponents 43-4 in the six games since playing the Brewers.

Yes, but they're still 12 games under .500 and you can't discount what they did before that.

wasn't that a 2020 thing?

It was 2020 and 2021. It reverted in 2022.

I thought double headers were 7 innings? Did I miss something?

That was a pandemic thing because they played a lot of doubleheaders to try to squeeze as many games in as possible.

I think the 27th man is only for game 2. I haven't heard anything and the announcement will probably come after the 1st game is over.

I think we have the best team in the division. I just feel confident that we will overtake the Cubs. I think they pitch to contact too much and are too top heavy offensively. Over 162, the best pitching team will take it.

I have enjoyed watching our playoff odds basically go straight up

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

I'd generally agree, assuming normal health from both teams going forward.   The big thing here will be what the Cubs do at the deadline, will they add a legit starter and 1-2 bullpen arms that work out?  They have money to do it and recently I know they had a well regarded farm (can't say I've looked in the last 18ish months and after trading for Tucker).

But will they?   Dodgers and other teams are so good that it might be best to wait it out since they'd still have a very good shot to win division without going too hard at the headline. Quick take, if I'm them I probably just do a couple cheap BP additions and see what happens.   Save money for Tucker and/or save prospects to replace tucker or for use in the future.

7 inning doubleheaders were the bomb. I wish they’d make that a regular part of the schedule.

Like 7 inning doubleheader every other Saturday, which would also give guys like 13 extra full days off during the season.
