Chalk it up to might be a big reach but Braylon Payne is now following Ma'Kale Holden on instagram. That was definitely not the case until today.

How are they doing this for such low value... This hasn't got the way the draft experts expected at all.

Each of Roupe, Bentley and Holden were meant to be really difficult signs, never mind the value they've gotten for Holden and Roupe.

Lauridsen to come?

Maybe this is an unexpected fruit of the best pitching lab in baseball.

Wow I hope to we used the remaining balance and didn’t just cheap out. That’s a lot of cash

It’s basically the 5% overage plus a little more.

That might be it. Brewers didn't go into the 5% overage last year.

That would be quite pathetic. Need to win on all the margins. Especially with these perceived bargain signings.

A bit dramatic don't you think? Brewers spent down to basically the last dollar in 2023. It probably just ended up that nobody bit on the rest of the pool.

I'm not sure that makes sense. If both Cadiz and Lauridsen told MKE they were not going to sign no matter the money we offered ... should we have distributed the rest to the guys who already signed to an agreed upon number just so we could say we spent it all?

Well if that’s it, we added 6 more high school arms this year (after 6 in 2024 and 5 in 2023).

What an insane zig during a pretty hard zag by the rest of the league.

Wow and look at the success of the 2023. That should continue to be the strategy. Being irritated that they didn’t spend 800+k is not dramatic. When the whole point of this strategy is to accumulate as much talent as possible and you are reaching down the board to afford as much as possible. The 5% overage should be used by a team that refuses to play in ML FA. Period end of story.
