That's pretty harsh. We lost the game, but I didn't see much wilting.

Well, I don't know what else you call losing 3 on the trot to your closest rival. It's certainly very disappointing.

Woke up 9 games up yesterday . Going to bed 6 games up today and lost the tiebreaker.

The division race isn’t over, folks.

Well, I think we all knew it was going to tighten eventually, can’t win every game forever in baseball. But yeah, not a great series to rediscover what a losing streak feels like.

2nd day in a row the Brewers “deserved” to win according to this model

MLB Deserve-To-Win-O-Meter

@mlb_simulator

Cubs are luck merchants! Brewers @ Cubs 08/20/2025 Final Score: Brewers 3 - 4 Cubs Deserve-to-Win: Brewers 72% - 18% Cubs (Tie 10%)

Right. I really hope they can salvage a win tomorrow. 7 feels a lot better than 5.

Well now we know the Cubs will be around till the end. It's up to the Brewers to make it happen. The deadline is factoring into this little lull. You needed more depth imo. Siegler Perkins etc are nice guys but could have used another bat.

Wild range of emotions...from streak to this!

And then there is Uecker at end of week...what a season!  All the storyline galore!

We have lost 3-in-a-row to these guys.

Why would you think they would win tomorrow?

Makes no sense ??

Disappointing for sure … but hopefully we can salvage another game in the series with a win tomorrow night

It certainly doesn’t feel like we are six games ahead of the Cubs

Nice late effort by the Crew

Watch us completely turtle in September, blow a 9 game lead and division to the Cubs, only for things to start clicking again in October and win the World Series as a Wild Card just as everyone had given us up for dead. That’d be hilarious.

Tomorrow is a must win.

Or what?  We are up 5 games?  It would be big to go up 7, yes.....much more like must win for Chicago for division.

This series has been sitting there like the sword of Damocles through this whole winning streak. I wasn’t going to feel good until, this series and the rest of the 19 game/18 day stretch was over.

Tomorrow’s game feels like a formality just like some of those series over the years when the Cardinals would win 3 or 4; in a row by doing whatever it would take to win.

The 7 game homestand is going to be critical for the Brewers to get their mojo back. I’m not feeeling good about the Brewers chances of not losing ground when they finish this stretch with series against the Blue Jays and Phillies while the Cubs are playing the likes of the Rockies, Nats, and Braves.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Only way to power through this is to think of the lineup with Chourio back in it and Turang and Contreras continuing to abuse baseballs like they have been in August

5-game lead with all of September to play really isn't anything. Getting out of there tomorrow with a win would really calm things down. Perspective is a funny thing though. 5-game lead after losing to the Cubs 4/5? Panic? 1 game back after taking 4/5? Everyone would be amped up.

Heck, no reason to focus on the Giants then. Might as well just fold up and get ready for next year if you think we can’t win one singular game against the Cubs with Priester pitching.

Just ridiculous logic. The Dodgers have lost 6 in a row to us. I guess no reason for them to think they can even take a game from us in the playoffs.

Not talking about "folding up" and "get ready for next year"

I'm talking about the better team winning this series, and we should be focusing on SF,AZ, and Toronto, (and after that is Philly).

Cubs have Already played all the good teams, and have a very soft next 36ish games.

Anyone thinking we will continue to win 25 of 30 is smoking good ****.

This race will come down to the end, and we better get our **** together cause this RECORD win streak had ENDED.

Losing to mediocre teams has been what has plagued the Cubs for a lot of the second half. Doesn't mean it will continue to happen, but that has very much been the rub.

The streak gave the Brewers a huge margin for error. It's actually insane we could drop 4/5 and be 5 games ahead, in a race we were behind in last month.

I'm confident we'll hang on. I really want us to at least keep the #2 overall, but I believe we have a large enough sample to show we're a strong, consistent team and getting some horses back soon should help.

No one is talking about winning 25 of 30. I'm talking about winning one game tomorrow. Which should absolutely be the current task at hand.

The straw men are quite dead, good sir. Unless you can find anyone in their right mind who truly believed the team would finish the year by continuing a 25-5 pace?

Going .500 with the remainder is pretty likely to win the division.

At 18-17, the Cubs would need to go 24-11. Doable, yes, but tough. Each win above that makes it that much harder. 21-14 forces 27-8, you start getting into fantasy territory.

The Brewers really have to tank this. And if they do, they deserve whatever fate.

This played out as the type of game expected, given the conditions, Not many big hits, but they had one more than us.

With the wind blowing in, walking three in an inning is inexcusable, and both pitchers accomplished that feat. Unfortunately it was Busch in their opportunity, while we had Perkins who is scuffling & Ortiz who really doesn't seem to have a plan when he goes to the plate. Two ugly pop ups on 1st pitch swings.

Miz..........a leadoff walk, missing with two breaking balls after 2-2 (again with the wind blowing in). A little pressure, a little noise from the inmates. Another walk. A little more, which leads to another walk. After the damage was done, pressure off, he mostly looked great. First two innings, great. Bottom line, we just need for Ebby Calvin LaLoosh to grow up. The tools causing all the hype are there, as always. Just not all the time. Again, breathe. Grow up.

I imagine there's gnashing of teeth over Seigler hitting in the 9th. The thought process there was probably that Murphy liked him a little better than Perkins & Ortiz. So that's two PHs. And if Jansen DOES reach (he did) you just know that if Lockridge isn't available to run for him, the next batter is going to single to LF & Jansen won't be able to score. Monasterio is the other option and while that's a decent argument, Palencia might not come in throwing strikes & Seigler is more apt to extract a walk than Mona. And L vs R. Arguable, but I can see the thought process.

Turang is turning into one hell of a ballplayer.

Bottom line, like I said this smelled like one of those games down there that's 2-1 or 3-1, and save for Misiorowski's momentary Turnbow impersonation it probably is, and we most likely win.

The good thing about winning 14 games in a row is it gives you a 9 Game division lead headed to your division rival's place. The Cubs have a ton of talent and are a very good baseball team. No shame in losing three straight - if some things bounced the Brewers way? They'd be up 3-1. This is baseball. We lead the division by 6.0 G today. Lotta season left. Let's see where the chips fall.

Even if we lose tomorrow? I promise you all the sky is not falling.
