This is a good rundown of the next most imminent wave though I would have included Hardin, Lara, and Burke in the other names to know section. Hardin should be in that AAA rotation with Crow, CarRod, and possibly Gasser. I think we all sense Lara is an org darling. And Burke is an older, but ascending, masher who is neck and neck with Adams and Wilken in my book.

Author definitely had a strong grasp of how the Brewers operate. Great insight.

Pratt, Fischer, Made, DeBerry and Letson lead the charge of the next wave.

It’s easy to forget about Tyler Black and Craig Yoho. I sense both are firmly in the Brewers plans even if some fans have sold their stock. Yoho never really lost anything stuff-wise, he was just buried in the pecking order and lost a half tick of command maybe? Black has shown a knack for getting on base at the highest level which is a very valuable skill.

Theo Gillen of the Rays was drafted a pick after Braylon Payne (with Payne being a full year younger). Gillen comes in at #64 in BA's Top 100, and Payne doesn't get a single vote.

Made me go back and see just what we were missing out on, and they had identical second halves of the season.

Gillen: .257/.404/.327 with a 24/36 BB/K (113 ABs)
Payne: .252/.379/.409 with a 24/41 BB/K (115 ABs)

Lost in that is that Payne missed half the month of June and when get came back hit .383/.517/.638 in July (only one game without a hit, but 2 walks in that one). Went from 1 walk in all of June to a 13 BB / 10 K in July. Seemed like he figured it all out. Then he was hit in the back of the head on a double play on July 25th and knocked out for weeks.

After that point he hit .152/.298/.261 in August (missing half the month) and .182/.217.227 in September (5 games). Really seemed like he was putting it together, only to have to torn apart. Wouldn't be surprised if those June adjustments into July was the Braylon we see this year.

Payne is kind of forgotten about. He's 19 years old and could shoot up lists with a decent year. 30% K rate in A ball though and if he does that again he is likely to fall out of our top 30. Gillen signed for almost $1M more, he's 1 year older and had a more reasonable 23% K rate. So just some context on him outside of draft position.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

The Keith law write up on our guys seems a tad more optimistic than some. So that’s good to see.

espn should have their list out soon too since Kiley McDaniel said he submitted it to the editor today.

overall having 5-7 guys rank in the various top 100 is pretty promising and probably 4-5 of those guys will see time with the brewers this year.

Made's #3 for him as well.

Brewers are very well represented in Kiley's Top 100 with 8! prospects.

Am I forgetting a list, or is that the first Bishop Letson sighting?

The Sproat write up is everything I’ve been thinking.

Other teams are having these guys juice up their 4-seem (Priester), and we are gonna ditch that and make him strictly a sinker baller with a cutter instead of a slider.

Kiley McDaniel's writeups in his pieces this week were fantastic, and I think any casual fans that were considering following prospects more closely would learn a lot about what goes through a scout's head, when trying to project big-league outcomes for prospects.

I loved this one, from Pratt's blurb, after describing him as "a relatively unexciting shortstop prospect"...

"Just like 180 innings of a 4.20 ERA is worth over $10 million per year, the same goes for strong every-day players at premium positions; the Brewers are unusually good at scouting, developing and collecting these sorts of players."

...and today Kiley places Milwaukee in the #1 spot:

"When talking about the model organizations in baseball, it's common to hear people in or out of the industry mention the Dodgers then quickly also reference the Rays, because finding regular success on a budget is obviously harder than with the biggest payroll. The Guardians also get mentioned.

This conversation is now shifting a bit to where the majority of people in the industry point to the Brewers, sometimes first depending on what part of the industry they represent. Milwaukee has been strong internationally for some time, but its recent run might be one we talk about for decades to come: Made, Jackson Chourio and Luis Pena headline the recent crop."

If I remember correctly, Adams, Fischer, Lara and Adamczewski made the 101-200 list, giving Milwaukee 12 of the top 200.

That's quite a comment. When will Arnold receive some criticism?

And just wait till the Brewers young pitching drafted in the last couple of drafts starts to breakout. Incredible time to be a Brewers fan.
