Huh?  Five innings of shutout ball vs. the Cubs in his last start, with one hit allowed.

Prior to that, 6 innings allowing 1 run on 7 hits with 8 K's vs the Reds.

His last start in June and first one in July were bad, but he's been really good at times throughout the year.  Took a no hitter into the 8th against the Brewers in June.

OK, i admittingly wasn't following his starts after i dropped him on Fantasy, but he went 2 innings in late june and .2 innings July 3rd. I do see his last starts were fine.

I noted above too but that's not right.   Last months is sub 3 with over 10k/9.   he essentially had two blow up starts back to back late june first week of july (after his 9 inning shutout that probably pushed his arm) and besides that has been good all year.  And at times much better than good

He did have 2 bad starts late June / early july. I guess I didn't realize his last have been pretty good.

I don't mind getting these guys, but until we see what we had to give up, I'm withholding judgement.

Both players are rentals, so it BETTER not be too much...

I'd hate to see players we trade the freaking Cardinals beat us down for the next half decade.

It is not Coleman Crow and Knoth.

Crow I would be fine with.

Knoth... I would not. Knoth and Letson(and maybe Dubanawicz) are 3 arms I don't want to trade among those who have not premiered.

JJ Abrams. If a bat isn't available...you make one available. It can be done.

Well if we're looking for a screenwriter that's definitely our guy.

LOL... ok, I really like it and BEFORE I saw this, I was hoping they'd end up with a Clay Holmes, Dustin May and then I said O'Brien type return... as LONG as they're not asking for like Adamczeweski, but you said Gausman had stunk it up!

But you like May?

Ya know... doesn't matter! We got a new starter who had... REALLY good stuff and I THINK he can get back to that ~50% GB rate with that nasty sinker and we got another good BP arm to take the stress of Ashby, so I'm happy!

I do like him. It is the waters I wanted to swim in prospect capital wise. Both rentals. He has pitched quite well this year. Throws hard, elite extension, and has pretty disgusting stuff. His FIP is a run under his ERA. He has been getting a bit unlucky and the Brewers defense will help with that. I would guess we are gonna get him to ditch the 4 Seam. Throw the cutter and sinker. Still has a devastating sweeper. If anyone can unlock another gear it is Hooky.

I do find it interesting that May was a Dodger prospect, and if he can help beating them in the playoffs, that would be a nice little side story to knocking off Goliath!

It's funny how the brain works. I've been following CJ Abrams all year. He's on my fantasy team. But as soon as I saw JJ Abrams, I could not recall CJ for the life of me and had to go look at my roster.

Don't really need a screenwriter. Think we can just crowdsource taking "Major League" and editing it. Plenty of in-house solutions to do that.

Well, if the Brewers trade for JJ Abrams, it makes sense they would give up Cameron Crowe.

That is interesting... didn't have a trade with the Cardinals on my radar.   I'm not familiar with either of these players

This must be Murph's account.

James Cameron Wagoner has to go in a deal like that
