Alright bunty.  Time to make Freddy work for it

I love reading this for the first time knowing this was the first of TWO Bunty AB's in this inning. What a historic frame!!!

There have been 114 World Series entrants in the Expansion/LCS Era (since 1969), after tonight the 2026 Brewers are at a .327 batting average (2nd) | .400 OBP (3rd) | 135 wRC+ (t-5th).

If we expand it out to the 244 World Series entrants of All Time Ever (since 1903) those rankings drop all the way down to (3rd) | (4th) | (t-8th).

You guys (& gals), I think our offense might be good enough to win a World Series.

Nice little game within the game tomorrow is the battle between Wild Bill and JC for World Series MVP. If they do finish this off tomorrow, I would imagine whoever has the better game 4 takes it home. It's that close.

The blowout really hurt Ashby's claim.  Fitting for a team that really plays and wins as a team that it's really hard to pick an MVP.

One comment I'd like to make: Frelick made that diving catch in the 8th, and I suspect there are a lot of fans who hated him doing that w/a ten run lead. And in a one-sided game you probably don't see effort like that in the NFL, or the NBA, or from many MLB teams. But when it's in your DNA, you do that. Always. Regardless of the scoreboard, and without thinking about it. Had he pulled up--- yeah, they still win the game. But if they had a lot of players on the roster who would go about their business in that way, we'd have been focusing on football, watching the leaves turn colors & aerating our lawns over the last month because this team wouldn't be here.

Gasser allowed everyone to breathe & relax, both in the dugout & in living rooms all across Wisconsin. Razor-thin edge over Chourio for POTG in my book.

I mean YES. He also sprinted like a cheetah around 2B, up 10-0, when Joey O popped out to shallow CF. THIS is what makes our Brewers great. 100% effort on everything in any scenario.

If they were to close it out with a close win in game 4 w/Ashby getting 7 or 8 outs, I could see him at least being in the conversation. Otherwise like @Brewcrew82said, it's probably between Chourio & Contreras.

Counterpoint:

You need to hit HRs to win in the playoffs.

You can't sustain the Brewers style of offense vs top-flite pitching like you see in October.

You need launch angle; strikeouts don't matter.

And even though there wasn’t a hint of that tonight you somehow had to make this all about that.

Not a hint? Obviously! the Crew put the game away. When the Crew win the series it will be unreal to look back at the most enlightening posts about Chourio as TRT, Wild Bill should not be resigned, Murph is an awful manager, Sal should be left off the playoff roster, the Crew is the 4-5 best team in the NL (despite the best record), wild card or bust, Cubs taking over the division by August. No worries, don’t be a “gatekeeper “

I suspect the thing to be a little bit like the 93 Rose bowl with Brewers taking over the place.

You guys. I just woke up and I'm not sure if I'm dreaming. Rereading the IGT, it seems like I'm not. I've been pinching myself and it hurts, so I think I'm awake. Are we actually coming off of a 10-1 win, an 8 run 5th, all with 2 outs and one win away from winning the Brewers first ever World Series? Is this real life?

God I love the Dodgers subreddit. Every other post is a salt mine about how bad the TV ratings will be and how much better they are for baseball as if literally any Brewers fan cares one lick. What a pathetic angle to take after getting your teeth kicked in.

anyone else re-watching the game on MLB network?

Not yet, but I have recorded every playoff game and at some point I will go back and go through them with fast forward and watch the big moments and remember how I felt as these things were unfolding.

In the meantime I have watched countless fan reaction videos on You Tube. More than any other I watch ones involving Chourio’s walk off against Miller. There is nothing like the emotion of seeing what looked like a loss turn into a win in a matter of seconds.

It isn’t exaggerating to say that if they hadn’t pulled out that game the NLCS and World Series might not have happened for the Brewers.

I can’t imagine being that bitter if my favorite team had won that many World Series in my lifetime.

I keep seeing comments about how we'll "miss the playoffs next year" because "teams like this rarely last."

I get winning the World Series is difficult but I would probably wager the Brewers make the playoffs at least 3 times in the next 5 years. You can tell these people pay no attention to anything other than free agency.

Nothing is guaranteed, but there's absolutely no doubt a playoff window is wide open for the foreseeable future. It's very much like the 90's Braves or the late 2010s-20s Astros.

I’m going to violate a personal rule about looking too far ahead, but I wonder what they are planning for a parade and celebration. Obviously to pull something like that off they have to have a plan way in advance. It’s kind of the opposite of a disaster recovery plan.

I went to the Bucks parade in 2021 and I’m expecting something like that. My knees and hips are too old to stand in one place, but assuming there is a parade through downtown I will go down there and walk around to soak in the atmosphere. I would expect this to be much bigger because the Brewers fan base is so much bigger.

I saw someone post that the wheels fell off in Chicago shortly after 2016, and organizationally, apples and oranges.

I mean, they didn't really though. They kept making the playoffs for a bit and 2018 they were right there and just couldn't beat us.
