Somehow, Game 4 of the NLDS still holds the IGT record at 56 pages. Surely we can do better tonight, right?

I think a few of the regulars aren't posting much during the games.  I know that I haven't been posting during the games, just before and after.  I just want to take it all in, and not be distracted by anything!

This never crossed my mind. Admittedly I've thought the letters from Uecker were a bit of an eye roll... But if Murphy is actually sitting on a real letter for this moment that would be something.

In these 7-game situations, every game is a new series. The good news is, I trust these guys are locked in and focus and want to both finish the job and do it in a historic way.

Jax struggled in his Game 3 ALCS start against Cleveland, but he did manage 4 innings. He pitched 2 out of the bullpen against NYY. We'll see how patient Cash is with him. I'm especially interested to see whether Rasmussen or Martinez get a look out of the bullpen, although I hope the Brewers are up by so much I don't get to see that dilemma resolved. You'd have to think Baker gets at least an inning at some point. We'll see if his velocity is back, if he's rusty, or if the rest has helped him get back to the lockdown they relied on all year.

One of the strange things about our bullpen games is that they can look really different. Unlike a lot of teams, we don't have a lot of low-leverage arms. We have high-leverage and mid-leverage ones.

I really want this one tonight. Even one loss will have me nervous about Rasmussen and Peralta coming up again.

I've been curious if Bob recorded a video for the whole public for whenever this happened.

I kinda want to start Harrison. Getting him a little confidence boost going into '27 would be awesome. Only has to be one inning and then go to Drohan.

From the left side, Ashby Drohan Romero & Hall are all available. I don't think we see Harrison unless it's a later inning & there's a cushion.

I remember when they clinched the LA series. There was some outward happiness on the field of course, but I took note of how the real let-go was reserved for the clubhouse & there seemed to be a real 'the jobs not done yet' vibe to the whole thing--even after eliminating the defending champs. As you got through the latter stages of the season you'd hear things like "we haven't accomplished anything yet." And you're still hearing it now, even up 3-0. That's all Murphy. So yeah, the lock-in, the focus, has just been remarkable.

We should've learned by now not to assume this-or-that from a BP game, but I'll guess we see May either starting or first out of the BP. Drohan pitches early, but maybe Hall instead? Senzatela could even open & go an inning; someone else mentioned that. It would be back-to-back days but that's not a big deal at this stage & he threw the ball really well last night.

I expect Martinez to follow Jax.

Brewers will be going for a postseason record 9-game winning streak and be the first team to ever to sweep both the LCS and World Series.

In the regular season, the Brewers never won more than 5 games in a row.

The 1976 50th Anniversary Big Red Machine swept the NLCS and World Series, though the LCS was 3 wins, not 4.

Seriously, that is why he hasn't been around?  He's boycotting MLB?  What a bad season to make that decision...

On the flipside... I boycotted, or simply just tuned out MLB from around 1986 until late 2022 just after the Hader trade. We were in the process of relocating back to WI and I had reached a point of "if you can't beat'em (MLB unlevel playing field, free agency, players team hopping, Players' Union) might as well join'em)... so happy, grateful I got back on board without being a 2026 Johnny come lately.

At one point in April, Milwaukee was 13-13 … several games back of white-hot Chicago.

Since then, they have a 100-47 record.

Yes I remember a brief moment where a form of mass hysteria was spreading as the cubs were gonna blow past us and leave us in the dust because they fixed everything at the trade deadline and we somehow got worse

It actually 100% crossed my mind that there's a real Uecker letter waiting. I do think the fake letters are a little cringe, but hey, if the players like them and Ueck's family is cool with them, it's all good. I'm not on the team.

I think the team will be locked in. That the team can establish itself as the best playoff run ever is another goal they never even considered and that is like manna for Murphy to work with.

i really hope to see Harrison tonight. He was critical for this team’s success and we rode his arm all season. He had a strong last showing.

I get the impression based on his comments that his issues were primarily fatigue-related, not so much “injury”. And when he took a break and came back, he performed at first.

We’re gonna need this guy so best to get some playoff experience under the belt

I think the only two scenarios in which Harrison might pitch are:

1) Blowout in the Rays' favor

2) Extra innings

Even if it's another 10-0 game in our favor, I think Murphy still goes with the most trustworthy guys to ensure (as much as one can in baseball) that the Rays don't mount a comeback. No reason to screw around.

Really have to wonder if Tampa will show any interest, any fight tonight. I would hope every professional athlete would have competitive spirit and pride as their biggest motivational tools. But geez.... I don't know. They might roll over pretty quickly tonight.

That would really be something. I hope so.

But even if not, Murph can read his own made up letter for an hour if he wants, nobody is gonna care when we have the trophy in our hands

Let’s hope so….they looked very dejected in the dugout late in that game last night

I think they’re toast. The only way they win is like a 3-2 game where we have some bad batted ball luck or get a little antsy at the plate because we can taste the title.

I think the reason so few teams put up a fight being down 0-3 is just not believing they can come back. It's got to be super demoralizing to get beat down game after game, the pressure to win is so high. I think some teams summon enough intestinal fortitude to avoid a sweep and then relax because they saved face. All comes down to how much fight the Rays have in them. Do they just want the one win and roll over or are they ready for it to end? Hope it's one of those and not the "we're going to make history and win this thing" type determination.

We all know that no team has ever won the World Series after being down three games to none.

We also all know that the Red Sox did come back to win the 2004 ALCS over the Yankees after being down three games to none. I’m kind of glad that example is out there to serve as a reminder that strange things can and do happen once a seemingly beaten opponent gains some momentum.

My general recollection though is that, during my lifetime, teams that have gone ahead three games to none have generally ended up winning the fourth game. So, I scanned back through the World Series results going back to 1950 and found that there have been 15 years in which a team has gone ahead three games to none. 13 times the team has completed the sweep.

In the other two years the opponent won the fourth game and lost the fifth.

it might be that a team that goes ahead three games to none is a clearly superior teamand/or has established a momentum that has demoralized the opposition. That’s what I am hoping to see tonight, especially after last night’s rout.

If I do end up using the game 6 tickets that I bought before the series started, I will be going with some trepidation that we might be witnessing some history that we’d rather not be part of.

I’m hoping to witness and be a part of a celebration at the Am Famwatch party tonight

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I am thinking this as well.  Everything last night, and this series for that matter, had to have been demoralizing.  They had the minimum through 6 or 7 innings, blowup inning in the 5th, their best postseason starter not getting through 5 and had baserunners all night, plus the crowd being 50/50.  There very well may be more Brewer fans there tonight, and being down 3-0 may make them just be done.  They are professional athletes, however, so maybe there's some fight in them yet and they are just hoping to steal one.

I believe Drohan and Harrison are the only two not to have pitched in the WS.  I would hope Murphy would get both of them in with Megill to close it out.

I think they are dunzo. Dropping two very close, winnable games in Milwaukee had to be tough, but I'd bet they thought with Freddy on the mound they'd take Game 3. But the manner in which the Brewers won last night can only be described as a curb-stomping. The Brewers chased the Rays' best starter, then proceeded to take batting practice off their best relievers. Meanwhile, their offense could do nothing against a 27-year-old rookie. I get it ... professional athletes. But the majority of those guys certainly looked checked out by the end of last night's game.
