Well, it's nice to know that finally after 15 years, the next two games are legitimately "must win" in every way.

Sad that I have come to this as someone who has at least defended yost all year but this team is just done, it looks like they are just ready for the season to be over at this point and that reflects on the manager and the biggest silver lining I can find is that he will be done after this year almost for sure.

This team hasn't been eliminated yet, which means that they technically still have a chance. So, I'm not going to completely write them off until they're officially out of it.

At least Next Friday is on TV to make me laugh after another 3 run lead turns into a loss.

 

Gabe Gross making an out was the least depressed I felt all night after we lost the lead because at least he put up a good effort.

 

Jeff Suppan is keeping Chris Capuano company in the "I haven't won in double digit starts" club, so Capuano doesn't feel so isolated.

Jenkins, Hardy and Gross are all hitting well right now. If this darn team can stay at least within 2-3 games of first place by the time Sheets comes back, the Crew still has a reasonable shot. Obviously, things are going to have to go much better on this road trip, however.

With the weather getting cold again Wrigley will start to play against power hitters for the rest of the year thus negating all the power in the Cubs lineup and making them rely on their pitching. I hope.

Amazing how Sheets coming back can elevate spirits so much, for everyone involved with the Brewers in any capacity - fan, broadcaster, player, whomever. Whether or not feeling better results in better performance remains to be seen, but I know I jumped right out of bed at 4:30 this morning with pep in my step after watching Sheets come back.
