It's been a year or two since I've done this...I love hearing new music, and I use these lists to aim myself towards albums I should own, but don't

mine's still:

The Clash: London Calling

To me the test of a great album is that I can listen to every track all the way through. There's only four albums that I can do that:

Beastie Boys - License to Ill

REM - Document & Reckoning

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

I know that compilation albums don't count, but I give special recognition to Bo Dean's live album "Joe Dirt Car".

Good call. The Clash - London Calling is far and away my #1. I don't think it will ever be overtaken.

Rest of my top 5:

The Replacements - Let It Be

Iggy and the Stooges - Raw Power

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine

The Velvet Underground & Nico

Green Day "Dookie"

honorable mention:

System of a Down "Toxicity" and self-titled

Tool "10,000 days"

Boston "More than a Feeling"

Killswitch Engage "Alive or Just Breathing"

I always find it really hard to pick one favorite - it seems like having to choose between your children! My 5 that I can listen to all the way through, every time are:

Blondie - Parallel Lines

The Prodigy - Fat of the Land

Prince - Sign O' The Times

Band of Horses - Cease To Begin

Radiohead - OK Computer (okay, I'll admit, I skip Fitter Happier!)

All time favorite = Jack's Mannequin, everything in transit

Other favorites throughout the years:

Nirvana - Nevermind (honorable mention to all other Nirvana albums)

Pearl Jam - Ten

And a guilty pleasure:

Presidents of the United States of America - (Self-Titled)

I can listen to that album on loop for an entire 8 hour workday and not get sick of it. I can't explain it. "Little dune buggy, in the sand..."
