I strongly dislike Thames leading off; give Arcia a shot at it.

Why? Thames is better in every category offensively. What does Arcia have other than speed?

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I would think about Santana leading off. Hits for average, has some speed, etc. Nobody else seems able to do it, give the guy a shot.

Giving one of our worst hitters the most plate appearances seems like the opposite of what you would want.

Check his OBP

Who? Arcia? He has the second worst OBP of players in the lineup today.

Season on the line with that injury. Lovely. Hope he's okay

Should Shaw have to go to the DL, my guess would be Phillips comes up? Lefty bat and Perez becomes the third baseman for a couple of weeks?

Really hope it doesn't come to that. Shaw's probably the one offensive guy who's irreplaceable.
